If someone’s complaining about the number 3 being too small, it does not necessarily mean they want 14 trillion. You can argue that 3 feels comfortable, and that 5 would be too big without saying “Oh so you fucking want 14,000,000,000,000 then? That’s too stupid and big, god you’re dumb.”

That is an interesting take I did not consider. Thank you! I’ll have to wait and see how that changes my thoughts surrounding this.

You’re right. I think it takes some semantic hair splitting to get to this though. Picking on this use of ‘doxxing’ is like complaining about someone’s use of the terms assault vs. battery in a non-legal proceeding. Correct, but largely (and seemingly ironically) counterproductive to the clarity of the conversation.

As someone charged with protecting PII, I can tell you objectively that a combination of first and last name is private. I can tell you that John Smith is a name. I can guess that John Smith is a customer of Some Company, but as an employee of Some Company, I could not tell you that per membership data, John Smith

Kotaku wouldn’t be doxxing you by responding to this comment with your real name?

The themes are confused. ‘Refund me if you can’ is in direct contradiction to ‘refunding is for cowards’. They should have stuck to the the edgy title, because immediately undercutting it with what sounds like a desperate plea makes the whole thing seem like a cringey half baked middle school project.

Why not both?

I’m kind of lost. I’ve only seen him in parks and rec and as Starlord, which seem pretty different. Did he fall into some rut after that?

“So we really hope that from here until launch we can really explain what open-zone gameplay is.”

This comment absolutely fascinates me. Before I send an email or comment, I tremble before the send button, afraid I’ve missed something and am making a fool of myself. I pore over everything related, several times too many, to ensure I’ve covered everything.

It’s more Stanley Parable with, in my opinion, almost no Beginner’s Guide. I say this as someone who enjoyed both, very different reasons.

If they hadn’t, they’d probably be using phrases like ‘unprecedented’, ‘bizarre’, ‘oddly unusual’, stuff like that.

Considering how much the staff hates interference in their editorial independence historically, I would assume nothing.

It’s worth noting that Boc will alter your clothes for free, whereas it costs souls runes to modify them yourself.

I’m expecting it to be the Cyberpunk 2077 launch, so, I’m holding back the hype as best as possible.

If only I had a giant, but hole.

They could have waited for the textures to load in the Gundam Overwatch game before recording.

or, live mad

Why favor the shooter? It felt terrible in Overwatch, and it feels pretty bad in Halo. As a player, I can reason away not killing someone. Maybe I missed, or they had more health than expected. I cannot however reason away being killed behind cover. It unilaterally feels terrible to die when you feel like you dodged
