It doesnt help that his novels have shifted to being more about tone and mood, and the character’s internal thoughts. His early stuff was more “action” and dialogue oriented.

I swear Different Seasons should be on someone’s 10th grade English curicculum.

I never quite got the love for Skeleton Crew. It has The Mist and The Jaunt and a bunch of solid, not quite great stories. I’ve always been more partial to Night Shift in terms of bang for your buck. Maybe its the nice symmetry of the stories, without a novella like the mist to unbalance it.
