Meanwhile, in Finland babies get a government-subsidised box full of goodies (including gender-neutral clothing) that doubles as a first crib.

I think there are two reasons why people are annoyed. Firstly, what she said IS inaccurate. "... cancer comes from inside you and so much of it has to do with the environment of your body. It's the stress that will turn that gene on or not... [those with the gene should] really consider the advancements we've made

I'm pretty excited about this. Lara is kind of a blank slate - we know she's posh, acrobatic and that she's a tomb raider. Everything else about her is pretty thinly sketched out, so I think Marti Noxon could really add a lot of nuance to her character. An educated, adventuresome woman archaeologist could be a great

I love how it says "artificially flavored" in the corner. Just in case you naively thought that a watermelon might have ever been involved in the process of making these!

Aw, thanks!

I can't speak for sociology or psychology journals specifically (both potentially good outlets for these kinds of articles) but in my experience, the humanities and social sciences areas are surprisingly conservative when it comes to sex. They're quite happy discussing pair-bonding and trans* issues and mating and

As an editor of an academic journal myself (sadly not this one!), I would say that a standalone porn studies journal probably is the best solution. The best comparison I can think of is pop culture studies, where 20+ years ago it was hard to get articles about the cultural impact of television into a serious academic

Yeah, I actually agree with you - the in juice bars bit clearly shows that it's meant to be funny. That's why I said in an earlier comment that I wouldn't specifically call it slut-shaming because I don't think that it's the intent here.

Well that would make sense, but without that context it's still a pretty off-putting headline.

Well, I wouldn't specifically call it slut-shaming myself (though I don't disagree with others who have called it that). But I'm really uncomfortable with the way the headline suggests that the main reason someone would want to get this is to minimize a scar appearing in an area that is often covered with underwear

Exactly. This is a positive thing, and the headline makes it seem like an unnecessary development (and implies that it's kinda skanky). I don't get it.

And of course only sluts want to minimize the risk of infection! This sounds like a good development for a whole host of reasons, not just "stripping in juice bars"...

Interesting article, but why the terrible headline?

It wasn't my first time, but I hadn't seen it since it first came out - so still a bit of a shock. I don't know what made me decide to watch it again!

I just watched American Psycho so I'm kinda tapped out on Wall Street for - uh, ever.

He's great. And the hair/makeup/costuming has totally transformed him into another person. I had NO idea that it was Aaron Echols from Veronica Mars until the person I was watching the 'Dr Feelgood' episode was like "Man, Harry Hamlin is actually pretty talented".

Are you sure your names isn't Meagan THATCHER-Mays?

Ha, I love Blatino too! But AfroRican has a kind of badass vibe to it. Either way, very cool.

Between your comment and your username, I think I love you.

The difference in the cost of fabric per item is barely cents given the scale of production. Cloth is a tiny, tiny fraction of the overall cost to produce an item of clothing. And the patterns can't be costing them much - or shouldn't be, anyway.
