Lots of authentic (Cantonese) Chinese places here in Toronto and its surrounding suburbs, but the cleanest ones are either in the 'burbs (moderately clean/barely passable, usually - to the point that I joke with friends of similar ethnic backgrounds that bathrooms at such and such a Chinese restaurant are "clean...for

Isn't Japan really clean? What's the allergy rate there? Do Japanese kids in Japan have more allergies than we do here? Would love to see stats.

Should say "that's exactly WHY." Darn iPad!

Re: Colorado - skiing and other winter sports?

WTF? This is exactly Egypt I have a problem either some body image activists. If I weighted 200 lb and said the same thing, then you would not be saying this, would you?

Especially for people who don't work out too often and have a certain frame, 5'7" and 135 lb isn't THAT super-skinny. I'm around 5'2" and hover between 93-96. Most stats say I should be around 108 or so, but my doctor thinks I'm okay (women on my mom's side are all on the lighter side for their height).

Muscle tone?

Even for fries? :S

I went to a girls-only Anglican school in Toronto and we had regular chapel, even for the non-Christian students. It's part of the school's tradition/heritage and really, most of the non-Christians didn't really complain. It wasn't overly religious, consisted a lot of daily announcements and who doesn't love a hymn

I have an acquaintance who is severely intolerant and she keeps lactose intolerance pills in her bag, just in case.

That's exactly what I meant. People who "think" your POV is just like others who're non-white aren't exactly what I would call..."bright."

Then these people are idiots! If it isn't in her experience and she doesn't know/understand it, then why should she address that? I have a feeling most of these comments come from either GWL (Guilty White Liberals) or from non-whites who, for some reason, believe that all non-whites have had the SAME type of

I don't understand why she feels she has to "speak" for all non-white women. Maybe I'll feel differently if I were a celebrity, but based on my upbringing (and what I assume is Mindy's) I absolutely CANNOT speak for many non-white females. Maybe if you narrow it down to first generation, suburban-raised East Asians

Who's idea was it to put that photo on the cover? I mean, I kind of get that it was meant to look a little candid, but I don't think it's a cover photo. It belongs inside.

I prefer quinoa and farro over rice. And I'm ethnic Chinese. I own a rice cooker, but probably use it once a month, if that.

Why do I have to live on this side of the Atlantic? Waiting until January is Just. Plain. Wrong.

So I guess both individuals were victims if it's both regret it the next day...cancels everything out, I guess.

Serious question I've always wondered: When both parties are (equally) drunk/high and therefore unable to truly consent, who is the victim? Many of us have gone through the "oops, we were drunk" regret the morning after a crazy party...

Hello Kitty/Sanrio was really popular with the newer-to-Canada girls when I was in elementary school and the foreign boarders when I was in high school. Chinese Canadian students were more split. As I said in an earlier post, I had product, but they were all gifts. I wasn't the type who would go out of the way to

I didn't know this. And I'm Asian. I had some Sanrio items when I was a kid, but they were all gifts from relatives who assumed that I was in love with them. Sure, I had tin pencil cases like many other Asian girls in my class (along with mechanical pencils and tiny rulers), but my cases were Beatrix Potter!
