Apparently those larger vehicles being produced in the US creates more value for the company that if they were to ship the production elsewhere. I can’t quantify that value is without being in strategic meetings but I could guess if I cared to.

You seem to misunderstand the point of a corporation. Their main goal IS to maximize the profit for shareholders. That is their whole reason for existing as a corporation. It is unrealistic to expect all companies to behave in a manner that goes against their core nature.
