The solution to that is to make people apply for student loans, and to not extend student loans to those with a low likelihood of returning that investment.

Methinks you’re bad at math.

GM has 164,000 employees. Mary Barra has a $2.1mn salary. That’s $13/person. Even if the total senior leadership team sums to 10x her salary (it doesn’t,) that’s only $130 per employee.

I’m glad David Tracy wrote this article it is a factual representation of what’s going on and not some overly biased piece that makes exorbitant assumptions. Who would have guessed that  the best journalist here is an engineer?

I’d be much happier with an 80% paycheck than a 0%.

This seems like a pretty smart solution for preserving some cash flow. Way better than doing a 25% layoff, amirite?
