I dyno test engines every day for an auto-supplier. What generally fails engines, from an internal mechanical perspective anyway, is internal wear. Wear is caused by and proportional to pressure (breaking through the supporting and lubricating oil film). Pressure in an engine is all derived ultimately from the power

Good point, people do talk about “under stressed” as if engines spend all day long at peak power. Hardly the case, not even possible. However, if you look at engines like Ford’s 1.5L ecoboost in heavy vehicle applications, it does run at high specific power a LOT in stop and go driving.

Right.  I see lots of young women who like to drive 80-90 mph on highways around here, and still crash all the time.  But when you get into thrill-seeking high speed behavoir, I think it’s mostly just men.

Yeah good point, Michigan is often called midwest, hence my regurgitation as such. But it’s really more unique as a great-lakes kind of place. Sure, we still grow lots of corn and soybeans, but we also have extensive sand dunes, thousands of lakes, and many millions of acres of state/national forests.

Dude.  Nice Z’s in the garage.

SE MI. A bit far. Let me know if you hear of one in like, Rockford, Joilet, or Aurora IL. lol

Tune it! I just have a piggyback JB4 on mine during warranty period, but even that adds loads of power. Looking forward to IS20 turbo and APR stage 2 after warranty. My manual trans will require a new clutch at that point, but the DSG is solid as-is.

it’s easily 95 % men, or higher.

Yeah but come on.  No one would try to go 116 in a Honda civic on this same road, because it wouldn’t be feasible.  The Tesla can get there in 5 seconds which is part of it’s allure.

Yeah, I have mixed feelings. I used to like street racing as much as I could (nothing stupid, just low-traffic boulevard blasts to speed limit, or highway ramps, etc), but now get mostly ignored.  My AWE cat-back is way too loud, though.

Lol. This took me a minute. We do have some Aldi’s around here, but I will never go inside one, so didn’t think of it. Mine is more of a organic co-op quattro.

Yeah that one sure caught my eye. Real dedication to the concept!

Damn fine wagons. Agree with nitrousbird though, very poor choice for the main pic.

laptops from intel?  C’mon, gizmodo.  ridiculous, and confusing.

I didn’t say it was ineffective. But I would like to have an honest conversation about it. People are going down left and right with breakthrough cases here in Michigan lately (hospitalization rates have been as high as 28% breakthrough, from the limited data I have been able to find). They are quite clearly able to

In a world where workers are making under $40,000, a five to six percent wage increase doesn’t sound as unreasonable as many people are framing it.

So, incredibly awesome, then?  congrats!

I mean, sure, and I agree. I guess my initial comment just meant to express my surprise that they were willing to fight for more.  Good for them.

Buckle up.

There is nearly zero risk for healthy people.”
