Although missing the ‘super high speed’ portion, there are a LOT of chargers going in all over the country. https://na.chargepoint.com/charge_point Although a lot of these are subsidized installations, and outside the southwest not many are being used regularly at capacity, the ‘chicken and egg’ problem of charging

Where should you test an autonomous car? Boston will expose the missing pieces in your software in no time. Following a bunch of nicely painted lines is easy (okay, not that easy but it’s just a start). Driving around a city with no lines, windy roads, potholes, rotaries, ice, slush, snow, leaves, Boston drivers and

This is exactly how the E-brake works in my ‘54 MG. Makes it easy to use as a hill-start brake assist, just lift and release. Press the button to lock. Unfortunately it makes it very easy for someone unknowing to accidentally release it.

Well, change your underwear at least.

Sounds like Car Talk hasn’t changed a bit!

What really gets me about this: For the past few years I’d been telling people how great it is that VW was able to figure out how to make their small diesels meet emissions without a urea injection system. Through a bit more than casual conversation I probably sold a couple of people who were hesitant about buying a

Thanks, don’t know how I missed that.

If they put the Voltec drivetrain in it I’ll send my preorder money right now!

I agree that it’s a great connector, but the is Apple we are talking about. They don't always make decisions based on common sense!

I know it's not dead yet, but with USB C the end is in sight!

The 30 pin connector was definitely single orientation, one reason the lightning connectir was such a relief. And Apple just got rid of MagSafe in favor of USB C, to the surprise of many. But yes, they do have a history of making decent connectors.

So wait, you mean that driving a minivan isn't a clue that you might have a couple of kids?

They might as well delete the seat belts to make it cheaper. I’d rather be thrown from that wreck (any of them) than stuck inside it.

It’s Massachusetts - probably trying to avoid a pothole!

Ha ha! I never had a problem with the brakes, but it was a 3/4 ton so everything was bigger in the braking dept.

All I needed was the headline... Ran my ‘86 to 340,000 miles before the floor succumbed to new england road salt. Unstoppable.

It’s one of the fancy new diesel-electric engines!

Huh. I guess it’s the 18's. My wife’s Passat has 16s and a very comfortable (but still handles well enough) sidewall.
