It’s “ancient” because it’s a solid platform that still works very well. It’s long in the tooth for a vehicle platform, but there are plenty of platforms that ran for 30+ years. Nothing wrong with using the hell out of a good platform.

Neutral: Put me on the list of “someone who’s done it”. I didn’t buy my car as a “Holiday Gift” but couldn’t pass up the year end incentives. I got my 2013 Volt in December 2012 for $6K below MSRP, a deal nobody else in the area was coming close to. It happened that I needed a car, had been emailing around with a few…
Been seeing pics and videos of you for years, do whatever you want with your hair and be glad you have any. haters gonna hate... just keep doing what you are doing!
1964 is a little premature. Buick lasted as Buick until they stopped making their own drivetrains. The 3800 engine pretty much saved GM in the 90's and came from Buick. Early 70's was peak Buick, the mighty 455 was their best engine.
There’s another aspect to the decline of diesel not being discussed here - that’s the rise of the PHEV and EV. People bought diesel cars because of it’s economy. But in the last decade gas engines have drastically improved their economy and emissions. Throw in many more hybrid, plug-in hybrid and full EVs for…
I always thought it would be fun to take one of these and convert it to an RV. At least you know they followed a maintenance schedule!
Hydrogen may have it’s day, but PHEVs are already out there and work very, very well. I’ve been driving PHEV for over 6 years now and it’s been a fantastic experience. The charging infrastructure already exists in every home and is super easy to use.
The technology exists. Bob Lutz took that road with Via Motors who unfortunately still only sells to fleet customers, but they exist. We have a Volt and Pacifica PHEV, and both of them give us about 85% electric driving yet we can still take long trips and don’t have to use the wildly all-over-the-place public…
I’m 6’3” and have been enjoying my Volt for several years. Handling is impressive if you add some grippy tires and it’s fun to drive. And you don’t need to charge if you don’t have time...
You get into the habit quickly. Especially if you have someplace to be.
Brb going to use my PIN number at the ATM machine to get some cash to pay for my NASCAR!
Budget $30K? Professional looking etc etc? AWD? Buick TourX wagon!
I’m pretty sure “New” is anything that hasn’t been titled before. I have a feeling the miles were put on by dealer transport and test drives, i.e. a driver bringing the car from one dealership to another on dealer plates. But they also tried to make me sign the new car P&S with the odometer listed as having 68 miles…
43 miles over how many years, out of curiosity? Sorry I’m ignorant on my Aston Martin production years. When was this car made?
Damn, I’m ashamed I wasn’t paying more attention. I’m in the boston area with a trailer and can install tires, and would have been happy to help out with all of this stuff. Sorry I missed it!
any update? I was hoping this was just an out of control April Fools joke.
I fully agree with you about trailers that heavy having brakes. But here in Massachusetts, trailers don’t require brakes until they exceed 10,000 lbs!!!! In Michigan the minimum is 15K! I wouldn’t want a trailer that heavy without brakes, but I used to have a flatbed trailer we would move cars with that didn’t have…
If you routinely tow 9K, would you even bother with a 1/2 ton pickup? I know they have boosted tow ratings exponentially in recent years, but wouldn’t you want the better brakes and suspension that comes with the heavier duty trucks anyway? If I were towing 9K routinely, I’d be looking at 3/4 ton trucks.
I have what could be considered a collector car, a 1954 MG TF. But it’s not a garage queen, it’s a driver. I love to drive it. The driving experience itself is... well let’s just call it exhilarating, but what I really enjoy is other people’s reactions to it. I love stopping and talking to people about it, showing…
Gravity wins! Most of the deposits that sink to the bottom will happily flow out with the oil in this procedure.
