It’s exciting reading about your German / Swedish adventure while we similarly embark in our own: this is our “new” 1949 Käfer we’re buying in Düsseldorf, driving around the Rhineland for 5 days then shipping back to Tampa. It’s the most bonkers thing I’ve ever done, by far.

it seems ridiculous that a party that won 11.5 percent of the vote could prevent a policy wanted by 60 percent of people.

I heard the big difference is that it doesn’t run on gas

What’s different now is anti-vax used to be the province of a small portion of the far Left. (Think RFK Jr here.) What’s changed is a large swath of the Right is now rejecting anything that’s been touched by a Democrat, no matter how centrist, and the COVID-19 vaccine has (to their mind) Biden’s fingerprints on it.

Now I just want to see it growing and shrinking.

I don’t worship the rich, quite the opposite considering how many got it, I agree with much you said. I’m just stating the reality of the situation regarding their purchases.

No, I cross even when the walk light is red. THAT outs me as an Auslander. The Germans don’t break rules.

If there are three(or more) lanes, they aren’t allowed in the left most lane.

Funnily enough the screen used car was posted on Jalopnik last year for only $4500. looks like a 1966 Datsun 411  https://jalopnik.com/at-4-500-would-you-make-the-call-on-this-1966-datsun-1841236601

Yeah, this is kinda of my take on it too. I obviously feel badly for the families who lost loved ones, but Snapchat is not the problem. Snapchat wasn’t around when I was a reckless hooligan, but camera phones were, and there is definitely evidence somewhere of my going well above the posted limit.

Sorry, David; but pointing out that modern SUVs and trucks have visibility issues out of the factory cannot be a defense for making those issues worse with a modification. The motivations may be bigotry or general assholeness, but that doesn’t negate that they may be on the right side of the argument just for the

I have no desire to own this, but I appreciate its continued existence. I don’t know prices on pre-war cars, and can’t tell them apart enough to make a distinction between one worth a lot of money or one worth a pittance. Honestly, you could tell me this is a $100k car, and I would lack the wherewithal to dispute you.

It’s Elon. Teslas in Tunnels is probably super profound because it spells TITs.

Excuse me if I’m wrong, but I thought the entire point of driving a car in a tunnel was to rev the engine and see how much noise you could make. Using an electric car if kind of self-defeating.

Oh God, don’t give G/O Media any ideas.

David Tracy with the sensible suggestion. Has the world gone ma- oh...yeah.

Woah woah woah. What are you getting at? I’ve been kicked out of a Lululemon before for too aggressively handling the yoga pants on display. I’m qualified to judge here.

I’ve said it before and it bears repeating: buying a car is an emotional decision. Your brain is involved but only because that’s where all the serotonin-oozing neurons live.

I mean, I don’t agree with the new pay system, but at least give some fair criticism of it. The actual goal is $16/hr after expenses. $30/hr is what they think is needed to cover expenses and produce a wage of $16/hr. A uber driver making that$30/hr has much higher expenses than a teacher making $30/hr; not
