Did you notice the streets he was driving down? It’s all street parking. Even if someone wanted to learn some basic car maintenance, there is nowhere to do it when you live in a city like Jersey City.

While I have no doubt a skilled mechanic can use them to get something decent, there are reasons people pay 5-figures for the machines.

Do you have your own alignment rack?

This is a valid point, but you aren’t exactly going to be able to do a quality professional 4 wheel alignment in your garage (at least not as accurate as one done on the rack).
