It’s gonna be Mustang GT performance for a Z06 price.

This car is going to be the most disappointing reveal ever. I would much rather have them bring back the Celica as a sports car for the people - a Mustang competitor that it originally was. RWD, retro styling, maybe throw some louvers on it, keep the price low so people can actually buy it.

The thing about the GTR is that it makes no attempt to hide that it’s a “numbers car.” It does zero to sixty in under three seconds! Laps the ring in X amount of time! If a car is all about the numbers, it makes sense for it to have a dual clutch system.

Toyota is the biggest selling car company in the world. Pretty sure they know what they’re doing more than you.

To be fair the Guilia and 4C are from a manufacture that most people in the USA are unfamiliar with, and the 4C is literally a $60k exotic with under 300hp. They should have considered the fact that Lotus Exiges don’t sell well, because the 4C is pretty much in the same category as the Lotus.

Economically damaging? Last I heard, the GTR was selling pretty well for the past 10 years. Along with all those other cars you mentioned.

The only “bad press” I’ve seen is comment sections livid that a car they can’t afford doesn’t offer what they want.

WTF? I just bought a trackday Porsche with a manual.

I want to be excited for this car, but I just can’t. No manual transmission, ~350hp, and probably $70k+ because it has the name Supra slapped on the back of it. The previous supra was a legend because of its bulletproof 2jZ and this new one is a fraud.

What if you give them the money to do that? You want to support American workers? Good. Buy American-made stuff. But don’t do it with my wallet.
