I know it’s a been harped on many times, but if Alfa offered the 4c with a manual, they’d have much better uptake. They are a niche brand offering a a niche driver-focused car, trying to resurrect their reputation...yet they cut out a good chunk of their audience.

10. The Z4 just isnt that good. A better car can be had for less in the Miata.

That unique commitment to driving experience where you want a manual steering rack but not a manual transmission. Strange indeed!

The lack of a manual option puts the 4C in a hard spot. The 4C is going after a market that wants to be engaged in the drive - I would wager at least half of those would want the extra involvement of a manual. It makes a terrible GT car, so you can eliminate the buyer that wants a sporting car with an autobox (every

The idea that you could invest a few thousand bucks a year in a 401K and POOF achieve lasting financial security in retirement was fucking fraudulent from the beginning.

Not for nothing, but I kinda wish all that money i’ve sunk into Social Security could have been routed to a roth IRA since i started working shitty jobs as a teenager, meh jobs as an early 20 something, and now decent job as i have a career as a 30 something. Playing catch up as a mid 30 something finally having

What a time to be alive. I read that title and my first thought is “Why so slow?”

Car designers need to take us bottom scraping fifteenth owners more seriously.

Aaaaaand I would still buy it with the stick. If I am going to go careening in a group of people at cars and coffee, I want to be fully engaged.

Also resident of Oregon here - what blows my mind is that the people who are usually all “Free market everything! Get big government out of my life! End nanny state nonsense!” are suddenly advocating forcing private companies to hire unnecessary workers, for the sake of “jobs”. Yet when a proposal comes forward to

Come to Texas like most of the transplants are coming from... Just one thing.. Don’t vote Democrat.... Unless you want to California Texas in 20 years.....

What? The fact that this is auto only proves that it absolutely takes outright performance as a priority over enjoyment and connection.

The Miata is the car you are talking about, not the A110.

These are contradictory statements.

Two. Just a math and a multiple choice English portion for a possible total of 1600. Apparently they added writing in 2005 so I’m guessing this cursive atrocity was a portion of that.

I took the SATs around 2004 and I don’t remember a single bit of cursive being required. It must have been a result of that restructuring they did when they changed the scoring system.

Cursive is a fucking blight. It was barely legible when it was necessary and I’m convinced the only reason it’s still a requirement is so the old fucks who wasted their time learning it can convince themselves that they didn’t actually waste their time on a skill that was rendered irrelevant by ubiquitous technology.

Dude when I did the SATs I had to write that 2 sentences in cursive too, took me about 3 minutes to do it! That was the longest part I spent and super hard!

It’s the olds, and by olds, I mean like 65+. I can’t remember a time when I’ve used cursive for anything, even in high school for me 99-03 90% of everything had to be typed, and the remaining 10% just had to be handwritten with no cursive requirement. It’s insanity.

In Illinois we just passed a law requiring Cursive be taught. The amount of Facebook commentators declaring it a good thing because it’s necessary for life was astounding.
