Yeah the Virago seemed to mark the beginning of Yamaha focusing more on cruisers and slowly drifting away from ‘standard’ bikes.

It’s amazing what people consider “not too much power” for a first bike. I’ve been riding for more than a decade, on bikes of all speeds and sizes from a Honda 100 Scrambler to a heavily modified GSXR1100; they aren’t cars. They aren’t “fast” cars. They’re a whole other world.

From experience, any 1980s Japanese bike in the 450-750 class. Cheap to buy, reliable and easy to repair, no real worry about scratching it or dropping it, etc. And next season put it up for sale for exactly what you paid for it and get the bike you want.

I’ve got an idea. How about instead of you being a jerk and simply insulting people, why don’t you give us some first hand knowledge and experience about why we shouldn’t hate them.
