Anybody who wants a really original vintage 2-door. For comparison, think what kind of sad vehicles the same money would get you on any used car lot today.
Hell yes. This is so 70's you aren’t allowed behind the wheel unless you’re wearing bell bottoms and a striped shirt. Maverick 2-doors outsold Comet about 2-1 for 1974, but no one saved them and about the only time you see a cherry one come up, it’s always the sedan.
Rotisserie chickens are a Godsend. I shred the white meat and use it in all sorts of recipes (adding seasonings as necessary) — tostadas, salads, soups, pastas, tacos. My favorite application is tossing the shredded chicken with couscous, s&p, a touch of red wine vinegar, mint, toasted pistachios, and orange segments.…
True. But in this case, if it looks as good in person as it does in the pictures and if it actually is all original, then I do think it’s worth the asking price.
I’m sure it’s just homey marketing lingo, but a Farmhouse Cheddar is a hard cheese that is cheddar-like but not actually cheddared.
Cheddaring is a process of cutting fresh curd into slabs, layering them on top of each other, and turning the stacks over and over. Once the slabs kind of blend into each other, the block…
17 seconds and Manwich are both right. I am old enough to remember, these were considered pretty crappy cars when new, and they are objectively even more crappy by modern standards, but that makes them pretty unique and very different to drive than a modern vehicle. You will immediately notice that there appear to be…
Yeah but you don’t buy an old car because it’s objectively good. You buy it for the style and novelty factor. Part of the fun of owning something like this is how hilariously bad it is compared to even the crappiest modern car.
I would consider this because mint versions of common cars like this Comet are actually more rare these days than “desirable” cars from that time because people generally didn’t care about them. They used them up and scrapped them without giving them a second thought... unlike the desirable/high end cars of that time.
I’m old and in good condition too. Where’s my museum pricing?
My Brother in Law would, however he has no money. One of the forums I follow had a guy searching for a late 70's Fairmont/Zephyr so that he could gut it for drag racing in a specific class that he intends to win with a normally aspirated 1,000 hp FE series motor with heads and intake that he designed. People on the…
There’s always a club for this...
If there was a car screaming for decent seats, a 289, a three speed overdrive [4 speed MT] and a locking differential for it’s 9-inch, this is it. As most of the parts that that fit a Mustang will fit a Maverick or Comet...
It’s one of the nicest examples of an undesirable car I’ve ever seen. Nice price for someone really wants a car like this without having 99 problems to sort out. I don’t know how many buyers fall into that odd category, but I’m sure they are out there.
Yep. I have no interest, but I can look at that, see the bright yellow paint that looks original, and that wonderfully brown interior with the striped seats. If there was a collector status version of this car, this is it, and $10k seems more than fair. ND for me, NP for someone else, most definitely.
This likely just got pulled out of storage when Dad or Grandpa died. You are either looking for one or make a pass based on price and age and what it is. This is aimed at a collector.
Why would I try? ND
“Runs well.” The thing has clearly been kept bone stock. Mileage is indicated. What else do you want?
I think thats a very reasonable price for a vehicle of that vintage. Find me a nicer one at a better price.
