I do enjoy the “backlash” towards Forbidden West for its story being “unrealistic” when the first one involved thousand year old war machines being magically resurrected by an evil AI.

Every time I here about this show I’m shocked to hear it went on for six years when culturally it mostly felt like they were a one season show with an annoyingly popular Journey cover.
Guy looks like the merging of Justin Bieber and the kid in Phantom Menace.
Welcome, but if you create one slideshow you will be ostracised forever.
Basically there’s been a long history of people tracing things like photos or other works to make their own and the resulting debate about whether it’s real art, cheating, theft etc which, given that’s what AI art typically is similar to, it’s not the new “travesty” some are painting it as.
Who knows, Musk’s had so many abandoned kids now maybe some of them were there too?
Knowing how to operate surgical bots to remove someone’s infected spleen is not analogous with knowing how to get Stable to make a picture of ICP accepting a Nobel Peace Prize.
Which is absolutely nothing like, you know, a surgeon who literally has to know exactly how the tool works and operates and be present during the process.
No, because as I explained in the very first reply, the difference is that you are hiring someone with the knowledge of how to design a website because you are somehow incapable of using one of the many free tools out there to design it yourself.
I mean, that’s literally how AI automation works across all industries at the end of the day, removing as much of the “labour” of tasks as possible.
Because they understand what needs to be inputted into the tools provided to get the result desired.
But sure, surgery and AI art are analogous.
That’s the point, there are so many industries now where computer-aided solutions have eliminated practically all of the grunt work that you might as well just say those professions don’t exist if the standard is “you’re merely a client if all you’re doing is just putting constraints into a system”.
But there’s an inherent difference between not wanting to lose socio-economic status/power and the pretence this is the death of human creativity.
The user has about as much control as they would if they hired an artist and gave them specific instructions, except it does it magnitudes faster but often not quite as good.
Except they do become the artist, because the artist is effectively the person manipulating the tools at their disposal to cause the production of the output.
You could probably put together a rather long list of “professional artists” that have been openly caught being more than somewhat reliant on tracing, and that’s just those getting caught.
This kind of ai will come for literally every job, not just artists and craftsmen, on the planet at some point and in most fields this has already started.
Seriously, when humans create art they don’t literally layer a bunch of picture one on top of the others and start tracing over the bunch of them using smoothing tool to better blend their features.
The artist’s suggestion of her genitals is steeped in love and physical desire.
