which is why only California gets to do it. They set standards before the EPA did.

Interstate commerce clause I imagine, overlapping with the economic reality that if every state imposed different emissions rules there’s be no way for automakers to customize their products for each state.
Every airliner that goes to altitude has pressurized cargo holds. It would be an immense amount of engineering work to only pressurize the passenger half of an airliner, since the circular cross-section of the entire fuselage is a much better pressure vessel than the D-shaped passenger compartment.
Sadly the name VIA is already in use as a bus service in San Antonio, TX. This might become a legal issue if they do press the issue as to naming...
I like the logo, but the name sounds just a little too eager to sacrifice clarity for catchiness.
Evidence right here of how screwed up this country is when it comes to mass transit. Dallas has its own system. Fort Worth has its own system. Arlington refuses to work with either one and instead chooses to operate a marginal system that barely will meet federal minimums and is largely ineffective. For a city that…
As a brand? MINI is no good. calling your brand MINI is like naming your kid “Jeeves”; you kinda locked them into a future...a future they may not want. MINI is slave to memory of ONE model, viewed only with fond memories and rose colored nostalgia. Be your own man MINI, you can’t live up to that kind of legacy.
Yeah, the condescension behind “I’m more woke than you” makes me at least understand where antagonism and backlash come from, even as I revile and don’t give much credence to it.
Yeah, let’s shit on people for not knowing how to pronounce a completely illogically spelled word that just started gaining traction six months ago.
For rigidity. The tradeoff is a decrease in resistance to damage.
Dude I have to respond to this one. Do you mountain bike at all? I have seen more “downhill” carbon rims cracked, chipped, or even blown out around spokes in the last couple years. Whereas my aluminum rims are fine and only need an occasional true. Granted this is mostly at angle fire which has some really rough rocks…
You’re assuming GM uses the best quality carbon fiber...
Its carbon fiber reinforced plastic. Very strong stuff.
I doubt it. This truck is more targeted at the type of person that will be towing expensive toys on weekends and not hauling stones at the job site every day. As an option (a most likely expensive one) I don’t seeing it having a huge uptake.
Make an old school slat type bed with lightweight composite inserts that are easily replaceable when they are damaged. The customer could also option to replace the slats with wood if they wanted too.
Room for both back there!
I was just going to say, GM is eating their words so hard at this point that the crow they thought they’d have to choke down just rose from the dead and pecked out their eyeballs. This is just asinine.
REAL PEOPLE, NOT ACTORS
Yeah to put in a 5th wheel you would have to drill holes into and ruin your brand new and expensive carbon fiber bed. But the 5th wheel tailgate option would still proably get used on lower trim levels with a normal bed.
First thought as an adjuster: “Christ, and here I thought the aluminum F150's were expensive to repair”
