Compensatory damages can easily be in the millions.

Long explanation short: compensation is for income lost, medical bills, therapy, etc., while punitive is to literally punish the defendant as a penalty for their actions.

He could just be very, very stupid.

It’s all hype and FOMO. All the due diligence in the world can point to “this shit seems sketchy,” and considering it was a crypto project it should’ve, but if the people in charge get a good feeling it doesn’t matter.

They’re making bets. A lot of these VCs manage funds that number in the billions, so tossing a $100 million bet is like you or I taking putting a $50 bet on double zero in roulette in Vegas. Sure, we are likely to lose the money, but if we don’t we are going to see a massive return on investment. They’re chasing the

“I think he’s starting to realize that all of his vagaries about “free speech” and the creeping realization of what actual free speech entails and how much of it actually needs to be constrained is something that pre-Musk Twitter was already struggling with and adapting to for years.”

You know you can just scroll by these articles, right? That’s what I do with articles that don’t interest me.

If that was true he’d have just nuked blue ticks entirely.”

“Sexualizing him is worse than sexualizing minors

He cant lose a bunch of money and also pay his taxes, thats just not how it works.”

If you think that Musk is able to separate his personal opinions from how Twitter will be run makes me think you’ve been asleep since he bought it.

Gosh, it’s almost as if the system is entirely broken to benefit the ultra-wealthy, because I sure as hell don’t get any tax breaks if I over leverage myself into a Ferrari that I suddenly can’t afford.

So you’re thinking that he can replace $4.5 billion in revenue with getting users to pay $8 a month for a checkmark that most people will completely ignore? The idea of replacing your customer base from cash flush corporations to the few people that will remain on Twitter and pay for something optional is a path to

Influence? These are advertisers. Over 90% if Twitters revenue is from ads so it’s a damn big deal if they start leaving in droves. Unless you think a mom and pop shop from Sheboygan Wisconsin is able to spend as much as VW did on ads in which case you’ve lost the plot.

People hate when other people get the same thing they do in different or easier ways.”

People get weird when someone criticizes something they like. And by weird I mean deeply offended.

You understand that declining US emissions is irrelevant to the point I made, right?

The US and much of the Western world outsourced all the dirty manufacturing industries to China decades ago. Blaming China entirely for emissions due to producing the products the west consumes is absolute silliness.

Musk is not a nationalist. He’s the very definition of a self serving globalist (no, not the dogwhistle kind, the actual kind) and his interests aren’t in making his adopted USA or native South Africa better. He wants to make himself richer and more powerful.

Just dismiss. Click the three dots beside the star and dismiss. Nothing makes them angrier, it’s hilarious.
