One of the best comic bits of the season is watching the unravelling of the (Not) Secret Alliance. Trinity and Monet are just carrying on with their Nefarious Plans for World Domination, even though they can’t recruit anyone else and no one seems to be impressed by it! Bless them.

Jinx with Provincial Purple

Raja deserved a place in the Winners Circle for that stunning Eleganza look. Boo! That’s the second week in a row that she’s missed out on a deserved win — nearly all of the queens, Trinity included, had an issue with at least one of their looks.

Stepping in to defend S7! Okay, I didn’t like the fact (at the time) that Violet won, but a lot of the maxi challenges in S7, aside from “Shakesquear”, were great fun, and any season with Katya and Ginger in it cannot be entirely terrible . S11, on the other hand, was stuffed with terrible improv and poorly-paced

It might make more sense if there was some sort of relation between the two characters or maybe if the contestants had to re-impersonate a former Snatch Game character as well as a new character. The decision to make everyone play two almost feels like producers couldn’t decide which performance they wanted from

Eliminating the eliminations, emphasizing challenge wins, and introducing the block are all ideas that will help make this season madcap instead of cutthroat. That’s a welcome approach for All Stars, as these queens have already paid their dues, and a similar lighter touch worked well for AS6. The only thing that’s

It’s almost disappointing to see how terrific and happy Diaz looks, as it suggests she won’t be coming out of retirement any time soon. It’s a shame because she’s fully convincing when she says she’s a huge fan of RuPaul’s music.

Hope springs eternal, but no. I’ve requested this many times myself, but have never received any response. I wouldn’t be surprised if the AV Club was going to discontinue serial recaps, and that’s one of the reasons that I’ve gone over to Primetimer.

I was actually rooting for Lady C, but during the Lip Sync Challenge she was downright underwhelming— it seemed as if the winner had already been determined.

What was the point of a top five if Ru was just going to fairly arbitrarily cut it down to a top 2 so quickly?

The final lip sync is to Cher’s “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight).”

A reveal was obviously coming, but no one would have expected a three-headed reveal that recalled both her drag mother/sister Yvie Oddly’s crowning performance, but also evoked the Bad Boy Baby trio of a blonde, brunette, and red head.

I just can’t see this ever happening. I think that RuPaul would see this as an acknowledgment that the show itself is, and has been, culpable of fostering this environment and has failed to protect any of the contestants that have made the entire franchise the success that it has become. She can stick her fingers in

That’d be a great choice, but my money’s on Kerri.

This was one of the best reunion shows in years, as the conversation was dominated by the early outs -- who rarely get much of a voice in these things -- and we got to stare at Alyssa Hunter’s beauty for most of the hour. And Kerri and Jorgeous looked spectacular, too. Points for everyone!

The most referential, and hilarious, look came from Kornbread, who took inspiration from Willow Pill’s entrance look upping the drag factor with a blond bouffant wig, rhinestoned “Angle” tank top

Overall, there was very little time spent on the making of the music video, which felt like a disservice to the episode.

I still re-read John Teti’s Project Runway recaps, which were responsible for drawing me to this site in the first place after Television Without Pity imploded in 2014. TWoP’s recaps still mark the highwater point of witty, bitchy social commentary in television in the age of social media.

  • The episode really should have featured the other six contestants eating their RuPaul chocolate bars.

Admit it: who besides me wanted Ru to say at the end of the lipsynch “oh, what the hell...you’re ALL going home tonight!”
