I thought Supergirl and the Flash bonded over their shared love of ice cream?
I thought Supergirl and the Flash bonded over their shared love of ice cream?
Red Kara killing all those people without apparent qualms bugged me too. She killed the American sailors because she thought they had killed Mikhail but how did Lex/Eve get her to murder people who weren't hurting anyone?
They could also have her lose her powers and live as a normal person. There’s precedent in the comics. Or just never mention her again. It’ll be interesting to see what happens.
It's known that J'onn is from Mars and therefore isn't eligible to be President. Marsden had to resign for exactly that reason.
I was a big fan of Anya on Buffy and I was looking forward to seeing Emma Caulfield on Supergirl. Then, just Thud! Her character wasn’t that great and, as you said, we never saw her again.
No, it didn’t but even a very good episode is going to have flaws, plot holes, etc. I’m more accepting than most and even I get annoyed occasionally.
They needed someone to be a “placeholder” until it was time to reveal that Eve was Team Lex? Honestly, I have no idea what they’re thinking most of the time. Remember back in season 1 when they made a big deal out of Ronda Rousey doing a guest spot and then gave her 3 minutes of screen time?
The two of them casually strolling into Kara’s apartment was creepy for sure but the writers have established that Lex knows her secret identity for purely narrative purposes (i.e., he could have shown Red Kara any random apartment, even one he rented and had decorated for the purpose, and she would’ve had no reason…
It might be that they thought having both Mercy and Eve around would be redundant. You’ve got Lex, henchman (Otis), and henchwoman(?) (Is that a word?) And that’s maybe all you need for story purposes.
You’re talking about the book with dinosaurs on the cover, right? I think she was supposed to be consulting an ordinary Russian dictionary, which makes no sense for someone just learning the language. The more troubling question is how she was learning words like “father,” “mother,” and “obey,” from a book about…
I’ve read the miniseries and it was okay but the seminal story for me is the “imaginary” story, “The Unwanted Superbaby,” from Adventure Comics 299 from 1962. Kal-El comes to earth as a toddler instead of a baby and after the Kents reject him he flys away and is adopted by a cruel tyrant, who uses him as a weapon.
If you’re implying Lex knocked up Lois, then, Eww! Just Eww!
More to the point, Lex is anti- aliens he doesn't control. Red Kara is a tool to him, nothing more. He'd gladly kill her if he thought it was necessary. The whole "I'm the man of tomorrow!" speech shows what's really motivating him, he's jealous because Superman is getting the adulation he thinks he deserves.
Ah. That makes sense. I was thinking more along the lines of characters who were essentially dropped after season 1. It's true that Cat has appeared a few times but she's still basically gone and I'd still like to see her return.
Yes, she found a clunkier version, what fans called the "Lexosuit," in one of his hidden lairs. It was last season IIRC.
It's also possible they simply gave her a name that would be familiar to fans and now they're taking advantage of it.
That would be me. I never got into the show.
As long as she recognized Roman letters (she'd already learned the Cyrillic alphabet by then, right?) she could have sounded out words. She had the dictionary to give her meanings in Russian. Not saying it's a good way to learn a language but she might have gotten the gist of some words.
My usual random thoughts:
She could have sounded out the English words phonetically, although that wouldn’t work 100% of the time.
