My early reading of it so far is that Edge is not “possessed” but an actual Kryptonian who arrived similarly to Superman and Supergirl, but we’ll see. Unsure if “brother” is literal or just something Kryptonians might call their comrades.

Let’s not look over the fact that Metropolis would definitely be a Division I school, while the way they depict Smallville it’s probably a Division 5, maybe Division 4 school, and no state’s athletic commission would sanction a game between schools with such enrollment disparity.

I can understand not wanting Dean Cain back but Jeremiah was an interesting character.  He could have been recast with Tom Welling and the Crisis could be used as an excuse to why he looks different. Or just not say anything and act like nothing is different. 

Other strategies they could use to work around Melissa Benoist’s pregnancy while shooting the next season:

Wish they’d bring Odette Annable back for real. Sam would make a perfect sounding board for Lena right now, and give her a reality check without sending her into defensive mode.
