I don't watch Arrow or Flash. Is it definite that there's no Metropolis on Earth 1 or has it just not been mentioned,

Last season Supergirl introduced a star that kills males. If she had to go back there for some reason she might recruit Batwoman, among others. We wouldn't get all the Legends and only some supporting cast but it could be fun.

My usual random thoughts, from the perspective of a Supergirl fan:

Because an actual supervillain would end up being harder to defeat.

It stands to reason that The Flash would focus on, well, The Flash. Supergirl will undoubtedly focus on Kara.

I don’t watch The Flash but you gotta have big ones to ask a guy who is nearly a god to drop off your alimony check for you.

AFAIK they haven’t. Something could have happened on Argo/Clark could have learned something Kara needs to know. The other possibility is that Lois is pregnant.

This. I don’t watch The Flash but that kind of lazy writing is common on Supergirl. It must be an Arrowverse thing.

I hadn’t though about it much but you're right. Of course, if they'd done that there wouldn't be a reason to go get Kara.

I wasn’t that taken with her version of Lois, although I liked her on Grimm. Erica Durance remains the gold standard for me with Teri Hatcher in second place.

AFAIK the genetic component of gender identity is still theoretical. Regardless of how it works or doesn’t work (and let’s remember that we’re dealing with stuff that’s made up anyway), Nia is still the victim of bad writing. It could and should have been made much more clear.

In other words, she was a woman in a male body with male genetics, which doesnt make her male but it does complicate things, especially genetic inheritance.

Its not. I partially stole it from an episode of “The Orville.” ;-)

Im quite aware that gender identity isn’t dependent on genitals, thanks. I have no beef with Nia being a “real woman,” whatever that might mean. She can have a female mind and a female soul and a female whatever-you-please. She can be a woman as far as you or I or anyone else is concerned. The trans women I know are c

I'm good. You?

In comics canon Naltor is the name of the planet while Nal is Dream Girl's last name. But it was also mentioned at one point that there are no family names on Naltor so her ancestors wouldn't have the same last name anyway.

I was thinking maybe all Naltorians are born male, possibly by cloning, and some become trans women after they begin to identify as female.

No, it doesn’t. Here’s Nia’s line to Kara: “once in a generation some of our women get this genetic oneiromancy.” It’s specifically genetic and particular to women, which means Nia can’t have it because her genetic inheritance is male.

Yeah, they've done a truly dreadful job and I'm not sure they can redeem it now.

I think we have to assume she changed genders on her home planet. Performing gender reassignment surgery on a member of another species (because there are bound to be differences) would surely be daunting. Unfortunately, it opens a can of worms about how she inherited powers that are only transmitted to women.
