One night last week in a local pub we had a waitress who was a dead ringer for Anne Hathaway. But nobody assumed it was her slumming as a waitress, we just figured she looked like her. People might look at Kara and think, "Wow! She looks just like Supergirl!" but not go any farther.

No. The way secret government agencies work is that only certain people know everything. If the President doesn’t need to know, they simply don’t tell him. IRL there’s undoubtedly plenty they don’t tell the President and it would seem to work the same way on the show.

True dat. They made a big deal out of Nia being trans and then mucked it up.

In the comics Naltorians were pretty much human except for the prophetic thing. Nia being trans does cause problems with her gift being passed down to women since she's presumably still genetically male.

My usual random thoughts:

AFAIK its an assumption that her pic is next to her byline. The random extra handed James a glossy magazine, not a newspaper, and the ones I read generally dont have pics next to their bylines.

She has. Last season(?) she was sitting around the DEO writing a CatCo article on her laptop and griping to Alex. But the whole lets retcon her to be a government employee so she can be fired by the President” is just silly and bad writing.

It also shoots a *big* hole in the whole “passed down to Naltorian women” reveal since Nia isn’t genetically female.

My usual random thoughts:

Glad see someone else gets why Manchester is “bad.” He’s not a “good guy” just because he kills and tortures the right people.

No, It didn’t. She made multiple abortive takeoffs including a couple where she was only held down by the chains. She didn't have full flight but she could get up to 10 feet or so.

AFAIK, so far Lex only exists on screen as part of the “Elseworlds” "what if"/parallel universe story, none of which has any bearing on the day-to-day show. The existence of Batman has been implied though.

Lena is there to fill the void left by Max Lord from season 1, the mildly sinister character with ambiguous motives.

Obviously she got it from hammerspace, the place where cartoon characters get giant mallets to clobber each other.

That’s puzzled me all along. Where does the skirt go when she wears pants? What about the boots when she wears a skirt? Where does she hide the cape? But we see her open her blouse and the "S" symbol is right there.

More yellow sun energy wouldn’t counteract kryptonite poisoning. And in the comics at one time Superman had a secret pocket sewn into his cape where he kept his civilian clothes. I don't remember if Supergirl did or not.

“I called it on James ending up helping the terrorists in the end because of ummm...I don’t know, pride?”

It may be that Lena was able to open up to Adam precisely *because* he was someone who didn't know her and wouldn't care, someone who could be nonjudgmental.

I think it started last season.

We don’t know what Nia is. She could be an alien or just a meta. We know she’s trans. That argues for her being human since alien anatomy would possibly have differences.
