After coffee, chocolate is the consumable I feel I must have.

Can I donate the crappy box of L.A. Burdick chocolates some vendor sends me every year?

I hate musicals but have a 9-year old step-daughter so...at least this looks good.

I’m maybe on-board for this so long as it’s just trying to imagine the story of his candymaker past, and not some convoluted attempt to overexplain how Willy Wonka came to be the way he is. I think part of the brilliance of many of the original Dahl books is that they didn’t feel the need to justify why grownups were

Yeah, my first thought a while back was probably everyone’s, “but why?”. But it sounds like it’s good, and what I’ve seen of it makes it look fun. So, I might take my kids to it.

I feel like Morningstar and LiteLife have an aftertaste that is definitely an acquired taste. Having spent a good chunk of my life as a vegetarian who likes hot dogs, I’ve acquired that taste, but I can totally see how it’d be a turnoff for a lot of people. Maybe Impossible will have that aftertaste, maybe it won’t.

Yeah, when I was growing up, my mom was huge into healthy food and cooking, so we had a lot of tofu but it wasn’t treated the way it should have been, so I didn’t think much of it.  (Not my mom’s fault; she’s a very good cook, just didn’t quite click back then on how to do tofu right.)  Later on in life I learned how

Thank you! This is a really excellent look at how versatile and underrated tofu is.

I’m quite surprised by the good notices this movie is getting. The trailer(s) looked simply terrible. I wasn’t going to see it before, but now I simply can’t wait to not see it.

Call me when they get around to casting him in “Pirates of the Caribbean Babies”

Thanks for the warning. I’m guessing it’s a response to not being ungreyed or being banned (which isn’t fun).  It’s very frustrating and I wouldn’t blame someone for typing a bit of retaliatory snark, but -yeah - I saw those gifs on Jezebel and I think that’s the worst I’ve seen. If they see women that way my sympathy

He’ll always be Pig Vomit to me, first and foremost. And after that, he’ll be “the son of the guy who banned Pete Rose from baseball.” And after that, he’ll be “the brother of one of the players from the Scott Bakula/Sinbad/Jason Bateman/Robert Loggia/Hector Elizondo college football classic Necessary Roughness.”

Sounds like white collar crime.

I don’t like his movies, but I really hope he just digs in and has his next film be even less subtle, and keeps doing that until his movies are just a series of famous actors citing studies on climate change directly at the screen and it gets nominated for best picture for some reason.

It is illegal. It’s called extortion. How it’s not being prosecuted as such is unfathomable.

Feels like a lot of this should be illegal. For example, how is listing another company’s business as your address not fraud?

Thread dangles you!

“Who cares” is the correct take. But also, she “came out” herself when she said she likes girls as well as guys, so she wasn’t “outed” or “tricked” or anything. If she didn’t want to talk about her sexuality, she didn’t have to, but she’s acting like Variety duped her into it.

They also change their name frequently in an attempt to get people to engage with them again,   It’s actually pretty pathetic
