I’ll just add that there’s a product out there that was designed specifically to try to be a healthy long term diet for people that didn’t care or have the time to eat better: Soylent meal replacement shakes.

Now that’s one of many meal replacement shakes that have close to all of the nutrients you need.

So, if you

I was going to make a first level reply and say that eggs are my go-to when I don’t feel like cooking anything else. I usually make breakfast tacos, or fry them and have ‘em with quesadillas. Never tried apples in a quesadilla, but I’m going to now.

Some of us don’t have kids in our house.  Ever.

Isn’t it much simpler/easier/cheaper to just go to your local convenience store and buy a water bottle with that kind of top?  Gatorade has some pretty heavy duty lids on their sports bottles.  Smartwater has some good ones, too.  They’re free when you buy a bottle!

Is there a way to bill Lifehacker for these three minutes of my life that I just wasted?

Talk about wack.

Overnight isn’t long enough? They only hold so much water.

Anyway, my fav skewers now are these really long cables.  The only downside is that they’re round, so stuff spins on ‘em, but the ability to coil massive kebabs on the grill and pull ‘em all off quickly is a game changer.

Agreed.  Non-round skewers are a bazillion times better.  Never used the Weber kind, but they look great if they’re not too expensive.

I do a fair amount of grilling with and without skewers. I’ve found that soaking them doesn’t change very much. They dry out to where they would be without soaking in about 30 seconds. So, if you’re cooking something where an extra 30 seconds really changes things, then this is a good tip. If you’re skewering anything

Heard of the game developer, didn’t know they had a storefront, though. I thought maybe it was a different entity.

I don’t think you and I are too far apart on this. I think we disagree on what people are “afraid of” when it comes to marketing.

I would say that because there seems to be a new article every month about how “Facebook isn’t listening to your conversations just because they give you ads about everything you mention”

There’s a reason that some version of this game is on every “best video games of all time” list. Every single one.

It’s not good. It’s great.

It might turn out that turn based strategy isn’t your thing, but Civ is great and if you wouldn’t otherwise buy it, this is a great way to get it.

I still think Lifehacker is

I’m starting to say this often about lifehacker:

Worst article ever.

LOL.  I think you underestimate the power of marketing, and the amount of information about you that is being sold and traded without you knowing it.  This isn’t about a chicken sandwich.

Indeed.

Never heard of Epic game store.  Is this just an ad for them?

Weird. I still don’t think it’s rancid. Might be something else in your kitchen?

Wait, are you using salted butter, or unsalted?  Unsalted will probably only last a couple of weeks.  But salted butter is what you want to spread on bread (and what most people leave out).

Wouldn’t a butter dish be easier?

Two things:

1. A covered butter dish is a kitchen staple. You should get one and discover the joy of soft butter (ant and cat hair free).

“The outside”? Are you talking about the rind of butter that is a different color from the creamy inside? That doesn’t mean it’s rancid, and the flavor won’t be much different. I think that’s just where some of the moisture has evaporated. It’s still very fine.

I don’t think it’s possible for butter to go rancid in
