I had a feeling that Grace was the new Cicada. When she came up, I’m reminded of the Clone Wars micro-series debut of Asajj Ventress:

Perhaps if someone were to unleash the Joker or all the bad meta-humans on Star City—[via fake sneeze] Cicada—or kidnap any of Pollard’s relatives, I’m sure the Mayor would be a lot more reasonable on the subject of vigilantes... ;)

Seeing Shay Lamdon choose to be Killer Shark again in order to save all of Central City brings me back to an episode of Spider-Man: The Animated Series, where Eddie Brock is presented with a similar choice. When lives are in the balance, you cannot defeat a particular evil without the assistance of the other. Yes,

You don’t get a lot of villains who broadcast themselves on live TV, looking to bait the hero or whatever. Takes me right back to the Joker:

That would be quite interesting.

So Colonel Haley does have a heart... somewhere.

The Book of Ralph. Bestseller. LOL

Can’t really blame him for following a more simplistic moral code.

“Making a deal with the devil.” Rather fitting, don’t you think? Both father and daughter speedsters having to go beyond the boundaries to beat the same enemy? The major difference is that the daughter has put herself in the clutches of a devil far worse than whoever the father is dealing with.

Oh boy... If Slade finds out that his son’s got a bomb lodged in his brain and forced into ARGUS, things could get nasty. But on the bright side, Joey and Cupid just might hit it off. About time Slade had some grandkids, wouldn’t you say?

If I’m honest, I really like this new Alex. Since last season, I worried that she was becoming too much like Kara. Now that her memories of Kara being Supergirl are erased, we see a tougher, darker side to her.

Glad you and I both drew the parallels between this episode and the Batman-Bane dynamic. Plus, there was also a bit of The Killing Joke as far as the father-daughter plot is concerned, only without the bullets.

Looks like Oliver and Rene are being pushed by the women they love into helping this particular women for different reasons. Emiko can respect that, at least.

One of these days, they’ll have a villain who can figure out Supergirl’s identity and still be at large. What this show needs a bad guy whose insanity knows no bounds and whose psychological warfare reaches the deepest pit. A bad guy like, say...

I can imagine the meaning of Thora’s comparing Ivar to Ragnar, and it would have resulted in a much more violent outburst, had it been made plain:

Charlie’s right, Zari. You do look cute as a cat. Reminds me of Salem Saberhagen over here:

I wonder how worried Felicity would be if she thought Oliver is turning into Barry... ;)

“Clever girl.” Why do I get the feeling Thawne has been watching a bit too much Jurassic Park?

I’m telling you, that opening was quite illuminating. Never thought David Ramsey could actually pull off DeVoe’s intellectual lingo. What’s more, we see DeVoe take care of countless ARGUS soldiers in a way that mirrors Darth Vader’s slaughtering scene in Rogue One:

Reign’s murder of Patricia brings me back to The Force Awakens:
