I'm personally fond of "Mr. Trump," since it makes it very clear that he has no former political title to go by. But I get what you're saying about not using the brand.
He never even finished a game of Operation. After getting the buzzer a few times, he knocked it off the table and tweeted about how ugly the patient was.
I was surprised that she actually attempted to go back. Good for her. That's very brave.
But if you don't have a title that indicates that you may talk about women sometimes, these poor men might accidentally listen to a story about women!

He's also suggesting that only men are losing blue-collar jobs, which is just not true. Women have to deal with the same economic problems men do before we get around to whining about our uteri.

Also, there is no "throwing out" the original stories. Melissa McCarthy isn't going to sneak into your house at night and steal your copy of the original movie. They're essentially just creating a parallel universe.
What about superhero movies, then? People get slightly miffed when they start Spiderman all over again for the millionth time, but it's nothing like this.
I read some article with some guy arguing that he'd be happier with a Ghostbusters 3 than with the reboot, which just seems kind of silly to me. Haven't seen Ghostbusters 2 but I can imagine it's awful.
Because sexism is a way bigger problem than a single movie?
I'm sure that a handful of people love the movie so much that they would be angry about any remake. But there certainly wasn't such a harsh reaction to the new Jurassic Park and Star Wars movies, for example.
Also, the kids were the ones who needed to use the bathroom.
