Justin, this is your calling. Mike Rowe should be your mentor.

Are heavy duty trucks considered light vehicles? Heavy Duty (3/4 and 1 ton trucks) are smaller than Medium Duty trucks, right?

The rise and fall of the filament turn signal amounts to more signal time as the light over time graph is more of a sine wave instead of a square wave.

yeah, I have Surly Cross Check that was my “gateway” to wide tires. But 700c x 50mm tires with fenders, even on a 58cm frame will mean toe overlap.

I really think this could have been a great chance to build an E bike complete with bag(s) or even a hard case handlebar bag. I know below is more of a French aesthetic, but delivering a complete package to the customer is something HD should know a thing about.

I’ve thought of that too, the battery does warm as its discharged (not as much as an electric lawn mower though), so the insulation just keeps the heat in and the wind/water off the battery.

Are there braze-ons for fenders/racks or even a water bottle cage?

Yeah...never walk under a hook.  I’ve seen hooks fall from broken cables and brakes.  Never walk under a hook.

Nice Price just ‘cuz of the rallye lights.

I used a clicking torque wrench and didn’t tighten an idler pulley bolt enough on my old VW diesel when doing a timing belt swap and the bolt walked out of the block and the belt let go of the cam gear.  Smashy smashy!

Cheaper “beam” torque wrenches are good enough in my experience with DIY mechanics. The clicking ones can fall out of spec and you can screw up a timing belt on an interference engine causing the pistons and valves to come together. Ask me how I know...

I had a multi piece flywheel fail, and I had to cut if off with a grinder. Felt like a real “wrench” after that.

I daisy chain vise-grips. Still remember where I was and who when I learned it.

Having a bicycle and being able to get to a parts store is a great hack! Or use the bicycle like a lifeboat when your car breaks down or you don’t want your significant other to be inconvenienced to drop off cars at the shop.

I grew up in Annapolis, and this more impressive due to how tight this area of town is.

I don’t think refurb makes sense if one is selling a comparable modern vehicle. The Gwagen restoration company https://expeditionmotorcompany.com/ is unique from the current lux modern vehicle, same with aircooled 911's, Icon, and TLC.

Being BoF, I do wonder if there would be a market to refurb these on a very small scale. They were sold to municipalities so I do see them on eBay for cheap. I really like that they can fit in a normal garage (unlike high roof conversion vans) but can tow 3,000 lbs (probably unlike converted minivans), and the

There’s also a US requirement for turnsignals to be 2.5x as bright if they are less than 4" from the low beam, which might be why the Mercedes has the larger turnsignals mounted farther away from the low beam.

man, that’s surprisingly tight.
