All good points, but there aren’t many options for a modern wagon. We ended up in an Outback as it was the closest to a non-luxury wagon that has enough room for a rear facing car seat and fit my tallish wife or I in the front seat and isn’t 10 years old.

I agree to a point, the interest in the Cybertruck does show that to some buyers the truck image or form factor with an electric drivetrain is more important than the specs.

Crosstreks are fine for 2 people, but I find the ride bouncy with the short wheelbase and higher ride. The higher hip height gives them a perception of being more substantial than the Impreza. I’m surprised that the Forester’s wheelbase is less than an inch longer than the crosstrek’s.
