Stay strong man with the manual. If I can find a 2008 Passat Wagon 6 speed with the later 2.0T, I can keep the family car with the clutch pedal going.

Ugh, I had a love hate relationship with the Pittsburgh Left.  Michigan Left on the other hand is fantastic.

I’m in the same boat as you and pay cash for old cars. I don’t know the answer to your question, but early EVs have suffered high depreciation because of their low range compared to newer EVs. Maybe becoming knowledgeable on battery repair could open the door to buying EVs with poor batteries and low costs and

IIRC the Tesla pack is bolted to the bottom of the car and is much larger than a Prius pack.  I would think handling the weight/size of the pack would be the most difficult item with an EV.  Some are liquid cooled, but I don’t think it would be too different than draining coolant in an ICE?

There are companies that just sell hybrid battery overhaul kits, I imagine they will transition into EVs too. Hoovie’s Garage and I think Chris Fix have Youtube videos on rebuilding Prius packs.

Along those lines are people who have acreage but continue to site their home facing the road instead of rotating it to benefit the sun or weather. They could have a much better home with natural light and possibly lower energy costs with the only cost being possibly a longer driveway.

Maybe it’s a Ecoboost F150? Could E85 benefit engine timing?

“Aiming” “blinding” LEDs, is that a lighting pun?

She must be very old based on her Dad’s working period and I bet an ambulance chaser lawyer or relative pushed her into this.

I hear the same from my coworkers that they think traffic is bad in the Cities. There are definitely spots that are bad but I’m a religious Google Maps with traffic user and get routed around it.

I hear you, it was faster for me to change into shorts and ride my bike from Grant St “dahntahn” and take the jail trail bike trail to Squirrel Hill then to walk to parking garage and sit in tunnel traffic.

Yep, Drive from Alexandria to Annapolis on a summer Friday when everyone was going “downy ocean” was 3 hrs in 2009.

Not nearly that exciting! As the bike wheel turns, it generates a small amount of electricity for bike lights and small electronics.

When i lived in SE Michigan, everywhere was an hour plus. Flint to Warren? Plymouth to Romeo? Sterling Heights for Kart to Kart and the closest VW dealership? Anywhere around Ann Arbor during a “big game..”

3.0 liter swapped w201 sounds fun, but c36’s are so cheap.

A 20” wheeled city bike just sounds like it would be super useful in NYC. Not everyone can use a Brompton but a KISS steel bike with smaller wheels (for space saving) and wide tires, 1x7 drivetrain and dynamo hub would work for so many people there.

A traveling nurse doesn’t do house calls. They travel to hospitals that are short staffed and work for months on a contract. It’s a great way to make good money with few expenses and see different health systems.

I could have sworn they did the first year?  Maybe I’m thinking of the CTS? I just looked through fueleconomy.gov and it looks like your right.

I don’t think I’ve seen an STS-V outside southeast Michigan.  I heard a guy bought a base STS with a stick.
