What an instant classic. I love how Scott just immediately made the whole thing go off the rails, and then everybody else got in on it. I might have imagined it, but Dabney Coleperson made an appearance too, right?

As somebody who struggles with acne and oil, and is still pretty young, what do you mean by skin care here exactly?

Or, in one of the biggest breaks, Richie Tenenbaum's attempted suicide.

For an answer, I'd go for Moonrise Kingdom. Favorite Wes Anderson film, and such a touching movie. I like how its not about messed up adults, at least mostly, but instead about childhood fantasy. It's beautiful, immersive, this vast world I can just sink into. Love it.

Hey! This is a well timed Debate Club. I'm in stage crew for a performance of Hairspray, performing Friday and Saturday and I feel the same about the last number. The whole experience has been great too. I have to stay late every day, sometimes not getting home until 10:00, but it's worth it for the community and

Thank god for podcasts. I've been catching up with With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus, and Generations is so, so great. Throughout the day I just find myself grinning, remembering Scott's Dabney Coleperson or "don't slutshame Grandma" or any other thousand things. I've also been slowly getting into Hollywood Handbook.

RIP Manhattan

Dammit, I thought it said Masterpiece Theater and was really hoping for something crazy.

I have a teacher who says that in all seriousness and lord, sometimes its hard to maintain composure.

Probably the scariest episode of TV I ever saw was "The Idiot's Lantern", when I was like 7 or maybe even younger. My family was living in the top apartment in a pretty big yellow house. I shared a room with my (very annoying at the time) younger sister, and I wanted to read about planets and the solar system late at

(same thing, but ironic apparently? even if theres no discernable difference)

Citizen Kane and the first half of Royal Tenenbaums. Kane was obviously fantastic, and even if it was spoiled for me (not sure if spoiler tags are necessary for this) that Rosebud was his sled, I didn't know that Kane was the only one who knew what Rosebud meant.
With Royal Tenenbaums, I think Wes Anderson is quickly

The car's my mother?…

And what about Paul Ryan and Mike Pence?

Just started watching s2 of Gaffigan Show, since it's the only one available on Hulu, and holy cow its great. The Trial is a fantastic episode, and the rest is almost as good.

After listening to Assassins over and over, I'd like some kind of miniseries, each episode focusing on a different presidential assassin (attempted or successful).

First cancellation: Conviction, on Friday. I want Hayley Atwell to be in something better, dammit!

Wait, wasn't Man with a Plan a D grade?

Todd VanDerWerff wrote a really good article on Vox about classic films leaving streaming and why it's harder and harder to watch older films. It made both sad and angry, and then this list both made me happy (The African Queen!) but also angry (ET! Deliverance!).

Don't forget Kieran Culkin! I really liked him in it as well.
