I love this whole “We’re not negotiating from a position of strength” thing. It’s more or less accepted that we used the world’s first deliberately crafted cyberweapon on Iran. It’s been made abundantly clear to them again and again that the only reason the US didn’t grease the country entirely is that the economic…
The main issue is Tesla is essentially laying the ground work to go to SCOTUS for its right to sell cars without using the dealership model. Dealerships are trying to force Tesla to do things their way. They can make the cars but they can’t sell them in the way consumers are used to buying them, which is the whole…
Tesla would never be so stupid as to enter into that deal. Have you ever heard Uber’s CEO talk? He more or less tells everyone who works for him “The minute I can fuck you over, I am going to do it.”
Also Milius watched a shitton of Kurosawa.
I don’t think the Coens have ever acknowledged it, but yeah, if you’ve ever heard Milius talk, that’s totally who the Coens and Goodman based it on. I also recommend listening to Milius talk; he is completely insane, fully aware he is completely insane, and does not care.
NMS wasn’t crowdfunded and will actually come out in 2016. Star Citizen has raised something like nine figures at this point in crowdfunding and probably won’t be in alpha until we elect a new president.
Yeah, this is why I didn’t invest in the game.
A lot of the time, the worst delays are when somebody thinks they’re doing a small batch run of their product in their garage and then suddenly have a million dollars and no idea what to do with it.
Right. The point of the game was to demonstrate the technology of the PS4, to give Sony reps a game to point to and say “Look at what it can do!”
If you don’t mind, I’d ask that you not do that. I did it for a laugh, not to shame the guy. Feel free to share elsewhere, though.
Heh, well, there are some flaws in it, but it was a rush job.
The main issue is that it’s short, and yeah, it’s a tech demo. But what’s there is INSANELY polished. There’s a lot of gameplay variety, it’s absolutely gorgeous, and the finale has a gunfight in the catacombs that might be my favorite game moment in recent memory.
I’ll bet that means “Done on PC.” Porting is still a pain in the ass. There’s a reason major game publishers regularly have somebody developing the game and somebody else porting it.
Most of the time it doesn’t seem to be “deception” so much as “I have never manufactured a product before, and making thousands of copies of a physical object is really damn hard.” Like, I back a Kickstarter if the timeline seems grown up and reasonable, but I also fully expect that timeline to collapse.
Recently I said “Jesus, who owns a Ouya?” forgetting that I actually do own one.
Eh, this doesn’t sound shady to me. It sounds like a fairly typical back-end fuckup, to be honest. They were discussing a delay, the publisher told them they needed to clarify if there was going to be a delay by X date, they blew X date, the publisher told stores to delay.
The one benefit to all this is that Trump is sucking up all the oxygen from the other campaigns. Basically whoever actually wins the nomination will have a long, bloody fight to do it, while the Democratic candidate quietly uses the Obama infrastructure to collect funding and set GOTV operations.
Doom’s the problem. Doom is such a great villain his heroes have to be great, right? RIGHT? Not so much.
