Also, the rule is not “she was definitely going to score a goal,” it’s “an obvious goal-scoring opportunity.”
It’s “policed as closely” as foul balls, three-point shots, and touchdowns.
This was one of the best soccer games I have seen in a long time. One thing that the BBC announcers kept pointing out is just how great the U.S. women are at pinpoint crosses. It’s really amazing to watch.
