So I don’t have any issues buying more than the base level trim to get some creature comforts like that and audio options to keep my long trips more comfortable...…

This new generation is rated to tow as much as the gassers apparently... So my point is not what performance will be at max towing with the diesel but how well it’s towing would contrast at 75% max tow rating as compared to the gas engines...
