Either way... You can buy a new volt while they have inventory. You can buy a new volt now or 1st quarter 2019 with the $7500 federal rebate. You can get a used volt for some time to come.
I still think Plug in Hybrid like the Volt is the best bet for my needs (while the Volt is available anyway)... But this EV by Kia might steer me back towards EVs... maybe.
Either way it is a good sign of things to come from the industry. Choices are getting better, value is getting better, range is getting better.

It is a two year old car with 8k miles... premier model which stickered at 38-39k before rebate.
The Gen 2's are starting to look really attractive used. Found one 2017 with 8k miles going for $23k... Wish I could have jumped on it.
Still - The Volt is the best plug in hybrid on the market today. It is also the best bang for the buck USED plug in hybrid to buy once they are two years old.
