A couple of weeks ago I had some randoms come in while i happened to be at the hosting desk. It was a sunday, and IM CATHOLIC BUT I WAS STILL LIKE, OH GOD NO when they started off with, “So we noticed you aren’t in church right now...”

I’m really of 2 minds about this. On the one side, I’ve been an insider, driver and asst. manager at various pizza places. Being a driver is a shitty, thankless job. So good for her, I bet this made her day, week, month and year.

This is nice and all but I wish these christians would learn that generosity doesn’t end with money nor does it even begin there. Giving an individual $1,000 while working to undermine things like social safety nets and the like . . . you get my drift. The kind of generosity that we need is so much more expansive than…

It’s not a tip when it’s delivered on stage as part of a publicity stunt, though. If the lady said that she didn’t want to go on stage I wonder if they would have given her the money?

Sorry, but you’re totally correct. And now they’re getting publicity that goes far beyond $1,000 worth and will probably get a bunch of elderly people to send them their social security checks because of this stunt.

I don’t know about their current status (I believe it’s being fought out in court), but here in Indiana when they passed their moronic ‘religious freedom bill’ to support the Hobby Lobby decision, a “church of marijuana” declared itself in Indianapolis and claimed the right to the religious freedom to use marijuana.
