PSU alum here and it’s 3 all the way. But let’s not act like his “legacy” wasn’t tainted years ago already. That ship has long sailed (deservedly so, it’s now confirmed).

I’ve come across quite a few Penn State fans that are “Paterno Truthers” who believe that this is all a conspiracy theory. Shockingly, they can’t articulate why Paterno would be targeted and who is targeting him.

Anyone who is still defending Paterno at this point is approaching Camille Cosby levels of willful ignorance.

Growing up, Paterno was God in my house. We didn’t go to church.

so you’re saying I can support the very institution and sports program who turned a blind eye to multiple occurrences of child molestation over a 20 some odd year period to maintain monetary gains and some false sense of self-righteousness, yet be against child molestation? Got it.

Tell me something I didn't already know. You don't work with someone over 25 years and NOT know his proclivities. Paterno is a bastard who put winning above protecting innocent young men. Rot in H#LL!

I’m a Penn State alumnus and I was totally on board with Paterno’s downfall. My position then was that he could not have possibly been ignorant about what was going on, not with so many victims and over so much time. Furthermore, Joe Paterno ran Penn State, the buck stopped with him, nobody had more power at that

Jesus Christ. John Doe 150?!?!?

Do they just not believe the evidence?

Don’t you see, you fool? Joe Paterno is the victim here! Of course he wanted to get these kids help, but he knew the University would sack him at the first chance they got for exposing such a scandal. He had to live with the guilt, because he knew that the one thing that truly mattered was protecting the football

I like to tell blindly loyal Paterno defenders that if he were alive, he’d probably be in prison.

Of course he knew! How could you not know that the coach was raping countless boys right there in the fucking locker room?!

As a Penn Stater, I always held out a little hope that Paterno truly didn’t know and that he was telling the truth but i always acknowledged that it was a real possibility that he did. This just confirms it for me. Fuck that guy.

Or if you’re a Penn State football and New England Patriots fan, you would choose answer 2a:

I defended JoePa to anyone who would listen. He was a God to folks where I was born in Central Pa. This case is horrifying and these details are damning. I am not sure how anyone can still defend him, sadly.

I’d like to think that crushing Penn State’s football program would be great, but I feel like it’s too late to do that. They should have suspended the program after the Freeh Report came out.

I just feel like at some point even idiots realize the sky is blue. I’m an optimist I guess.

“The documents are part of a court battle in which Penn State is trying to recoup from its insurance provider millions of dollars paid out in settlements to Sandusky’s victims.”

The Penn State sanctions are seeming more and more like just a rythmic slap on the wrist.
