I’m not sure it’s possible for me to do any LaLD Car Week without posting this car. So here she is again. The 1967 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale Prototipo. To me, the most beautiful car...........
The 2.4 litre engine in this car failed in the 51st lap of the 1971 Le Mans 24 hr, so it doesn’t have much significance in that regard. It was driven by Elliot Forbes-Robinson and Alan Johnson and entered by Richie Ginther Racing. EF-R would go on to place second at Le Mans in 1989 driving a Mazda 767B.
For that 70’s edition of the live and let dicast car week 2019 I present the 1973 Le Mans Podium... and more.
OMG, post as many BMWs at LeMans as you’ve got time for. Especially with that amazing diorama!
As far as “times where things were better” were concerned, the 70s could take some beating for both Lancia and Alitalia.
Happy to report that I pick all of these up for under $5. I love hot wheels and other Diecast companies out there but seem to be developing a new found love for these old guys.....
I don’t believe that story for a second. This is a real car. DQ’d!
oh, my. That Last pic is so amazing. Of course they all are but, the composition of the last one really looks like it could be from a real race. I like the replication shot too!
I’m a simple man. I see a batmobile, I hit save.
Now for today’s 1970s run, comes a car that I’ve thought long about finally showcasing here. This is a Mercedes 250T made by KK-Scale, aka the first sealed 1/18 I’ve ever owned.
The 70’s. The era of chrome, emissions strangled engines, and graphics. Only 1 of those 3 is present in this lovely 2-toned Chevy C10 pickup from ACME Diecast. This is an old Highway 61 mold, and it shows in some areas. But my main disappointment with the model is the fitment of the wheels; which is something you…
Sorry if you were expecting a Nissan.
Ok cool. I was wondering if you just did it in post with Photoshop, but getting the layers to blend right can be a bit of effort. I think using the app effect is totally fine lol. It works so well!!
So darn good. I legitimately wasn’t sure if that last shot was real or not...
From Italian beauty, I present to you, the Italian beast. A 1993 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo 2 in 1:18 scale by Ricko Limited.
Disqualified. That’s not a model car.
