They are available in Europe, Australia and NZ, but not in Japan. Guess what other console do Europe, Australia and NZ regions get ... yes, the regular N3DS. So I think NoA is just being ... well ... NoA.

The question is: where do you draw the line between Japanese and Western (you personally)? Would you consider, for example, the Metal Gear HD edition as Japanese or Western? There are certainly enough games for people who are not into JRPGs and SRPGs. Unit 13 is pretty good, so is Killzone. The Uncharted game is also

Honestly, this is the least annoying thing to me about the announcement. As many people said, you will likely have at least one charger lying around, and if you have a 3DS to PC USB cable, you can even connect your USB charger. And if you don't, you will just spend a few bucks extra. Not a biggie.

But there is a huge difference between fan-made/unofficial titles (Dreamcast, SNES/SuperFami) and official licensed games like in the case of PSP. There have been over [edit] 20 million unites sold in Japan to date (about 440k last year alone), making it a huge user base that you cannot just abandon especially since

You are not alone, my friend. You are not alone ...

Some of these designs are actually really cool. I especially like the EVA, Idolmaster and the previous Tales varieties.

Well, there is no Persona 4 for 3DS so that could be an issue. But I own both handhelds and they nicely complement each other :)

I agree that it is unplayable, but since this game is not a JRPG or SRPG I don't really care :D

Well, I have a Japan-imported slim Vita so I can play games from both regions, and I did not experience any shortage of US games. Then again, I mostly play JRPGs and SRPGs, and the game I buy generally tend to keep me occupied for quite a while (Persona, Disgaea, Atelier Plus series, Tales of Hearts, heck even

There is a HUGE market for the games in Japan. As Brian mentioned, new games (some really good ones) are coming out in Japan all the time.

Devs' don't care about Vita, you say? I dare to respectfully disagree with you. For a fan of Japanese games, there is hardly a better system than the Vita.

We were talking about a petition yesterday. Well, here's our petition. Let's get to it, people! Show Nintendo there's enough people out there who WANT the regular-sized handheld.

I also owned both. I owned the black XL for a brief period after my first 3ds went the way of the dodo, and promptly went back because I didn't like the lower screen quality. But based on the thread, it seems to me that it comes down to personal tolerance/preference. Some people don't mind/see the ~30 DPI difference,

This is a fair suggestion, but what you are doing is taking extra steps to mitigate a situation that shouldn't have been there in the first place (i really think the 3DS XL could have at least the 120 dpi display like its smaller sibling). If you are moving your larger display further away from your face, isn't that

Heck, even a Twitter campaign might actually do something!

But the fidelity of the image is different, especially if you hold the device at more-or-less the same distance. Hence, I don't think your analogy with phone and TV is appropriate. Rather, you should be comparing two phones with different screen sizes.

Interesting comparison video, but the dude talks about contrast and color issues, not too much about sharpness of the image. Actually, to my eyes the image rendered by the LL/XL unit does seem a teeny bit more pixelated - then again that might be due to distortion in the Youtube video, so I will not make a definitive

That's probably an issue I am least upset about. I already have about 3 chargers/USB chords that can be connected to charger, so no problem there. Besides, the charger itself is not that expensive, so even first-time buyers shouldn't have to shell out too much extra.

First of all, let me just say: thank GOD for XSeed.

Maybe you have higher tolerance for blockiness, but the DPI speaks clearly. Did you know that the top screen has only little over 90 dpi, compared to (still meager) 120 or so on the regular 3DS. Lower DPI = more pixelated image.
