Why not make those new brown, manual wagons affordable new instead of after 75,000 miles? You know make them all stripper models, crank windows, no touch screen, and sell them for $10,000. Forget all safety stuff, that’s all unneeded.  Just a bench seat up front, bench in the back, rear facing bench in the way back,

If it helps send God-fearing idiots to meet him (or her) in person faster, I am all for it.

Reminded me of this. NSFW (these days, make sure the kids are in the other room).

We didn’t pass on a single rebate and received about $10k in total. We even received an additional family and distributor discount from Ford due to my employer.

0% for 6 years for us. I would have been crazy NOT to take it. If anybody wants to loan me that much money with no interest for 72 months then I’ll be 100% all over that 😀

Honda wants to sell you a HR-V for thousands more. Because AWD...

Funny you use a first-gen: It had a very, very similar problem — It sat on the lots a lonnng time (they made it more accessible than the V12 with the 840i v8). But additionally, a lot of the car mags at the time said “what’s the point of this?,” and the market was confused as well.

Oh right... BMWs used to be attractive.

Ouch, too many beautiful pics in your comment. My heart can only take so much!

easy to street park, less than $35k, not boring, 99% driven alone, is minimalist but not crappy

Hyundai Elantra GT sitting out here wondering why you’re forgetting about it.

When did all the “hatchbacks” become lift-back sedans? The crazy slant to the rear window makes it seem like and afterthought and takes a lot of utility away from the purpose of having a hatch in the first place. My wife’s 2016 mazda3 has this issue to a degree, my 2010 less so, my old ‘07 even less. The problem is

I think it’s inspiring what Honda has been able to do recently with their whole engineering and design process. Most car companies won’t take the kind of risks Honda has, especially with regards to putting disabled people in key positions.

I think the rear quarter area is also obscene; a ton of panel body breaks, that wildly out of place crease above the wheel arch, whatever the fuck is happening just ahead of the wheel well-

The goal is that every time you see a Civic hatch now, you think “What’s up, buuuuuuuuu--ddy?”

Yeah, because nine thousand dollars just grows on trees. Bad take.

Or, if you’re not a teenager buying their first car:

The rear fake vent is the worst square foot of car design in history.

Starred for the apt reference to Pauly Shore.

I can see the argument for keeping the service departments open as being at least plausible. Keeping the sales floor open so they can take advantage of panicked buyers is a lot less so.
