My kid was on a waterski team for years and wow as a poor family we only had some cheap ski boat (like $3K) that I keep running for a few summers. Covid really drove up all the prices for being on the water. Not only the boat prices, but prices of houses on Lake of the Ozarks have surged since covid started. These crazy prices have not slowed anything down. The lake has been significantly more crowded every summer since covid hit.

I bought a 25ft boat in 2018 and have watched them mark up its price 20% every year since, its now over 100k more for my boat new. 

Well, wakeboard boats are the loaded pickups of the sea. The owner demographic Venn diagrams overlap entirely.
