“Yes, that third strike was a little bit out of the zone, but it didn’t miss by much.”
So being wrong is ok as long as it isn’t by a lot?

“... three San Diego sports radio stations...”
Why did San Diego have three sports radio stations in the first place? Seems like a lot for a town with one major team.
“remember the damn ESPN Zone?”
I worked there for a few years. I sat in a small room and used a touchscreen to change the various TVs from one game to the next. The job came with decent pay and awesome benefits (courtesy of Mickey Mouse). I miss that job sometimes even though I make significantly more money now.
I’ve seen this trailer three times and each time I get more and more horrified. As others have alluded to the only way this movie will work is if Carrey turns into Raul Julia from Street Fighter. Otherwise we’re looking at a mess.
“Does WWE have any financial incentive for the show to go long?”
Yes. During their quarterly investor calls they talk about how many minutes per viewer they get and use that as a way to measure fan passion in an era with flat network subs and plummeting TV ratings. So by keeping shows super long they can increase that…
Really happy I took the under (87.5) for them this season.
Borderlands 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. Legendary Cat/SMG Maya is my jam. Looking forward to this one!
It is surreal seeing documents from Lehman Brothers. Feels like a lifetime ago they were around even though it was only a little more than a decade they went under.
Cold Take: The only sport that is better in person instead of on TV is hockey.
Just found out (by clicking the link) that Bill Barnwell blocked me on twitter. Have no idea when it happened or why. Not saying I’m blameless here but he seems like a putz so no real loss.
Drew it seems that at least 90% of your angst is caused by either your kids or the Vikings.
“...and REALLY liked the Gin Blossoms.”
Is Simmons right when he says Jazz fans are the worst at this stuff? I honestly don’t know one way or the other.
I’ve been watching wrestling since the mid 1990s and I can’t picture a world without Liger. This was inevitable but still sad. I hope we get a Liger-Hiromu banger sometime between now and Wrestle Kingdom.
“I swear I’m not trying to be one of those #PleaseLikeMySport assholes...”
Justin - that ship sailed a long time ago.
Sex work should be legal but in the meantime this is funny as shit.
I think both can be true: The Rockets live and die by the whistle so have no leg to stand on re: bad reffing AND Scott Foster is bad at his job.
Cubs should have signed him. Either play him at short and kick Russell to the curb (it is what he deserves after all) or play him at third and move Bryant to left and trade Schwarber.
With you on about 90% of this article Albert. Only quibble (and it is minor) is the part about not trading Davis at the deadline. I just don’t think the Lakers offer was very good. I’d rather hold on to Davis til the summer and see if I can get a better offer from Boston or Toronto or Denver or anyone rather than take…
“I pay taxes like anybody else does.”
How? I’m not trolling, I’m legitimately curious.
