It is real, but this is not how it works. No form of hypnosis alone will cause you to do anything you do not want to do. Maybe there were drugs involved.

But that’s just it. These techniques, turned to whatever purpose you want, are not supposed to be this powerful. Hypnosis is supposed to be able to make a person more open to suggestion or improve concentration, particularly the concentration needed to remember things.

This is not at all how I thought clinical hypnosis worked. I wrote a short film about it a few years ago. Everyone I spoke to said that you don’t lose consciousness and commanding people to forget things does not work. I absolutely believe these women were assulted. I just don’t understand how.
