Of all the things that are sad about this, the saddest is that they never found a way for Ferguson to make a guest appearance in Capaldi's run. Surely he must have requested it…
Would watch. Especially if it unites Peep Show into Who canon.
They managed to keep John Hurt under wraps somehow, but that was only for a one-off episode.
Now now, you're talking about the Internet that loves Star Trek, Dungeons & Dragons and My Little Pony… but dammit, you're still right.
Please come back as Malcolm Tucker in real life. Contemporary politics needs him.
He probably wouldn't be able to take the role seriously, but this is legitimately one of my favourite suggestions.
Part of the reason actors tire quickly of the Doctor role is because it involves a lot of action, special effects work and stunt work… but the main reason is probably simply the high profile of the role, that it makes you one of the biggest stars on British television, and one of the figureheads of the BBC. A certain fraction of people are convinced he's a dyed-in-the-wool sexist. I see little evidence of that personally - he's put his foot in his mouth a few times, but his heart seems to be in the right place. It is true that a lot of his female characters are pretty samey. Part of me still thinks that when the time comes to take the oath of office, the Republicans will yell 'Psyche!' and Trump will pull off his mask and reveal himself to have been Jeb Bush all along.
The 'buzz around the show' probably has more to do with it starring Jude Law and Diane Keaton, and being made by an Oscar-winning director, than the title.
Really? On the AV Club? Surely, Lenny must be a Simpsons reference.
Surely Trump is the Trump of Hollywood already. He's in movies, he's on the Walk of Fame…
I did, but my memory of it is apparently so bad I can't remember the line he was referring to.
Well, that makes sense. I thought for a moment people were talking about some other Alan Tudyk movie. You know what, just ignore these comments…
I've seen Margin Call and All Is Lost and liked them both, so should probably check out A Most Violent Year…
I still can't quite bring myself to read it. As long as I don't, the series isn't over, and you-know-who is still alive…
