Also, this:

OK, here you go:

“Video review confirms the call on the ice. We have a good goal.”

Occasionally they’ll do a video on why they don’t. They had one for a hit by Wilson on (I think) one of the Schenn brothers, and I actually found it fascinating not for the explanation of why there was no supplemental discipline, but because they basically did a forechecking tutorial during the video: http://video.nhl.

Sometimes an attacking player will intentionally shoot a puck wide, so it will bounce off the boards & land where net-crashing teammates can take advantage of the rebound...or it could be that the attacking player couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn...

I’m sure others have brought this up already, but:

Ah! A visual presentation. Thank you, sir!

“Considering he’s been only one of two elite players on the Caps’ roster for 10 years, coached by 1st-time coaches & managed by a GM who, among other bad decisions, once traded Filip Forsberg for Martin Erat, I’m still gonna claim he’s a coach-killer, whether it’s 2013 or 2016.”

You’re wondering if he’s a “passenger”. A valid question, to which I’d answer that he also played for Sweden in the Olympics (barred from the gold-medal game (for taking Sudafed), but...)...

Funny you mention Corsi, because Ovechkin torches Federov in that regard (even during the Oates years, where the team’s Corsi was below 50%):

Goaltenders are the biggest head cases. As proof, I present to you Exhibit B, for “Bryzgalov”...

Ovi as a coach-killer is so 2013.

On the plus side, at least now nhl.com will only post 3 articles a day on him...

Agreed that the Sabres probably won’t make the playoffs, but the silver lining here is the Sabres are at least trending in the right direction. I think you guys are going to be scary good in about 3-4 seasons...

Now playing

Not like this is the first time Ovi’s had trouble with his ‘angliyskiy’:

That’d’ve been one helluva wakeup had that ball hit him while he was sleeping...

And the dumpster fire in DC continues...

Unless your 3 quarterbacks are Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, & Andrew Luck, having a 3-way QB competition just means your 1st-string QB is playing like a 2nd/3rd-string QB...

I’m not apologizing for him (the whole team is a complete dumpster fire of a franchise), but in all fairness, can you imagine him dropping the ball & then just walking away from it? The media would crucify him. Not to mention that it was probably an automatic reaction to go for the recovery (I would think even the
