They’re not 1.9 second machines. One’s an old BMW that’s rapidly becoming a collector’s item, the other is a year-old Mazda that is not at all collectible because they’re still making them.

I bought a pre-1994 example. Also, in 1994 you could still buy a “post ban” configuration that didn’t have a collapsing stock, flash hider, bayonet lug, forward grip, etc. As far as pre-1994 guns, legality of purchasing one of those varies (still) by state and Texas had no laws beyond the federal ones.

I like the RF. There’s still more wind noise than I’d like w/ the roof up, but the driving experience is totally worth a little noise. Also, I love the way the car looks. The buttresses are impossible to see through, but they’re so pretty that I don’t mind looking at them even when they’re in the way.

The crazies have a lot more tolerance for being called baby murdering thugs. Also, the crazies think I’m a spineless traitor and will tell me so, loudly and often, so I’m not particularly interested in engaging with them either.

Just out of curiosity, what is the extreme on that end?

There’s nothing I can say that will change your mind. I’m clearly beyond redemption in your eyes, so this response is just me pissing into the wind.

You’ll never believe it, but I’d wager that there’s far more we agree on than we disagree on. You’re definitely the first to accuse me of alt-right-ness.

The Brady Campaign and Handgun Control Inc. might be the largest/best organized. What they need is an entire industry behind them, but I’m not sure who stands to get rich from their positions.

See you on oppo perhaps. Have a good one.

There’s absolutely no need for it. There’s also no need for the HSV Maloo but I still want one.

Thanks. I think we’d get along just fine. In addition to driving sports cars, I also used to be a licensed pyrotechnician. The absolute best seat for a 4th of July fireworks show is the one at the control console.

I saw. Try to enjoy what’s left of your evening.

The original commenter said they hadn’t seen a lot of vitriol aimed at gun owners. I pointed out one variety of vitriol that one could look for and then made a joke about the sorts of things that are said about folks who own the sorts of things I own.

I have some bolt guns as well. They’re fun to shoot too.

You nailed it in your last sentence. I have an AR because it’s fun to shoot. Also, they’re fucking EVERYWHERE so they’re cheap, parts are cheap, if you’re not inclined to DIY it you can always find someone who knows how to fix one, you don’t have to drive to the specialty shop 3 counties over to find ammo for it. It’s

I don’t need one. I just enjoy shooting them.

If it’s harder to buy an AR, I don’t think any of my stuff would be confiscated.

My garage contains an M Coupe and the driveway has a Miata RF in it. The M Coupe is rapidly becoming Cameron’s Dad’s car in that I spend a lot more time rubbing it with a diaper than I do driving it. The Miata is my daily because I live in Texas and I can get away with that kinda shit.

The avatar is a reference to a car. I got here via Jalopnik and the BMW Z3 M Coupe is known as the “Clown Shoe” because it totally looks like one. There are no weakly held opinions on the styling.

Don’t need it. I have sports cars.
