Well, that’s more time than I plan to spend with an open-world game, even if it’s as consistent and clever as something like The Witcher 3. But if this studio wants to spend lots of time and money to make like fifteen dudes incredibly happy, then why not? It’s no skin off my pretty nose if I get like 30% completion.

The $20 rental on other platforms is for 48 hour access not 3 months

Is it a scam to pay $30 to get to see a first-run movie with however many friends and family you want?

Cracking up that Marvel is somehow in the leadline of an article about a Wes Anderson movie, or that Benedict Cumberbatch, after all of his memorable roles, is now “Marvel talent.”

Sunspot is a major player? When the F did that happen? I mean....Sunspot?

He also blamed “millenians” (jesus) not wanting to learn anything “except from their cellphones” (jesus christ) for The Last Duel not doing well when he released it in the middle of the pandemic. So that’s a pretty big strike against him.

But Democrats will handle the pandemic better!!

Alien director Ridley Scott may have slammed the idea, but we’re very interested in what Legion and Fargo TV show creator Noah Hawley is going to do with the Alien franchise. (Certainly more than any additional Alien movies Scott makes.)

Caprica! That was a fun show, but you could see them strain to include recognizable elements of the series. The Cylon body is jettisoned with hilarious speed, and then the whole thing turned into a de-branded version of Sword Art Online, albeit before the anime adaptation aired.

The only reason Ash works as a robot is because he was SECRET. No one knew he was an android, they just knew he had an unusual amount of authority. Once it becomes known that androids are possible, why would people want to spend years, if not decades, frozen in deep space? And why would corporations want to negotiate

The linework here reminded me of Guy Davis as well. Not as many whisps of ink, more emphasis on movement and blocking, but same corner of the universe.

...the character comes across as violent and damaged, but the scenes where she’s licking herself and making cat puns in a big stretched-out drawl, is it REALLY that different from Uma Thurman doing Poison Ivy?

Needless to say, I never cared for Burton’s Batman films. They were just big-budget versions of the Batman 66 series with none of the self-awareness or wit.

As much as idiots want to act superior and say we can’t tell the difference, of course we can. We just haven’t implemented it properly on the content level even though, “technically” our eyes do have limits on pixel density recognition. But it’s a false equivalency to say that because of that, we don’t need properly

Bioshock Infinite is one of my favorite games (like top-3), but I definitely get the impression that it succeeded in spite of itself.

Levine is perhaps most famous for 2007's BioShock, a first-person action ‘em up that was unquestionably a milestone game in the industry. Previously he had been a key figure in the development of all-time greats like Thief: The Dark Project, System Shock 2, and Freedom Force, working with Looking Glass and his own

the funny thing is there are kind of callbacks between all the Bonds so james bond was actually a destroyer commander in ww2, blew up a nuclear reactor in the 60s, flew to space in the 70s, and fought for the mujahadin in the 80s. Only the Brosman bond had no callbacks or connections

I know this contained mere seconds about The French Dispatch (I’ve read the full review and related coverage) but it’s telling that the sole rationale included here is its set design and visual composition. Basically it looks good.

After the best picture Oscar for Return of the King, the Academy and critics seem to have decided that no big budget movie (and especially no genre movie) was worthy of critical praise.

We get it, you have a superior film taste that few will understand but there are other movies outside of the world of the pretentious film reviewer that are allowed to make best of lists.
