Maybe when the American public sees armed guards every fucking where, they’ll realize they have a problem.

Fucking cowards.

I always viewed it as actually being on a whaling ship. He looks for a ship and enjoys the beginning of the voyage when everything is fresh and new. Then you get out to sea and there’s nothing to do besides talk about whales and dicks and that’s where the book becomes a grind, only to pick up when they see some

Moira McTaggert

This sounds like indirect confirmation of the theory that Image absorbed the talent for Vertigo books. Exclusive contracts were probably the last firewall for imprints like Icon and Vertigo, and even those deals allowed creators to continue their independent series.

I don’t know if there are better mystery books today than the old masters. Sir Doyle, Dame Christie. There was a reason they were knighted. Amazingly good books. They aren’t nearly as cliche as you would think.

My take on Moby Dick, and other “difficult” works (Infinite Jest, anything by James Joyce, etc), is that they aren’t really meant to be read as books. They are a literary ink blot, something that literary minds can take as a starting point for deep musings about the human condition.

I stand by my oft-repeated opinion that anyone trying to get you to read Moby Dick is upset that they wasted their own time, and just want to watch someone else suffer.

I thought it was pretty obvious that those are humans the Librarian is overlooking

I suspect that the image of Xavier in House of X #1 is a preview of the mutant breeding pits. The characters emerging from those pods resemble Scott and Jean, but they may be something else.

I’d watch the SH*T out of a 13th Warrior series!!

God, I havent thought about Supernova in a long time. That was such a weird movie

This seems like an odd decision for Netflix. They are losing or cancelling some of their most distinctive shows.

With any luck, the series will generate enough interest that we get to see a director’s cut of the movie. Along with Walter Hill’s Supernova and John McTiernan’s 13th Warrior, Event Horizon is interesting enough in its theatrical version to make me wonder what could have been.

Del Toro should do the second Doctor Strange movie.

That’s implying that huge franchises can’t also have good writing, or that it’s harder for them to. My rebuttal, then, would be Infinity War.

But, rather quickly, that down-home, grounded, family feeling just escalates into another massive action set-piece. And while the final action is particularly jaw-dropping, it’s a little less so when you’ve just seen a glimpse into a more personal, interesting movie.

And Simon Pegg is wasted so far.

This really doesn’t sound any better than the fake ending on Wikipedia. Not sure I want to see Brad and Leo murder some teenaged girls.

Other than that, I may do a little bit of AC Odyssey, as I am close to finishing up the main story (original, not DLC).
