Good ole “benevolent” racism. The liberal bloc is filled with white “saviors”.

I think they all keep forgetting there are black candidates on stage. I remember in the first debate DeBlasio saying he was the only one up there who could uniquely understand police killing of black persons (or something like that) because he has a black son, and I was like ... “Um ... Cory is standing RIGHT THERE.”
I mean, yeah we elected Clinton and Obama to two terms. We even held the house/senate a few times. But we’ve also been sliding further from the left over the last 40 years as well. That rise of “neoliberalism” you mentioned festers today, and I think it contributes to a general malaise among liberals.
Yeah, don’t get me wrong, if someone like Biden gets the nod I will (however grudgingly) vote for him. But to see it start before we are even into the actual primaries is just really sad.
I mean, would love to take him as our QB2, but I’d really prefer for him to get a starting gig somewhere.
That sign was created so people would be willing to rally behind Biden, not because Biden has qualities that would make him a good president, but because people created this false narrative that Biden is the only one who can beat Trump.
Lol. Well on the national scale, yeah.
In Long Beach last night, the CA Dems are there. Running around with signs saying “Anyone But Trump” and I realized how truly sad and pathetic Dems are that they get so excited about settling for anybody.
Yeah, as much as I love Kaep, I can’t see the Chiefs signing him when they already have one of the best QBs currently in the game.
“Faded” in black urban culture may refer to taking a beating or (seemingly in this case) killed. That is what I am assuming he means here. But I didn’t catch the line in the song, and context could change that meaning.
My former professor did the illustration for the Kindred adaptation, so I am a little biased. But part of my argument for it is that visual rhetoric is a thing that students need to be able to look at critically, because it is so prevalent in society. Also graphic novels can add different layers to a book and…
I think we can all agree that the takeaway from all of this is that 73% of books chosen for common read are lame.
I just submitted the graphic novel adaptation of Kindred. I think it would be great, especially with how relevant its material is in current socio-political discussions.
His name has been popping up a lot lately regarding social stuff (he was in the headlines for arguing with Candace Owens). In hip hop he’s still an influential figure in the southern/Atlanta scene for his role in popularizing trap. But, other than that, I don’t really know. I was never much of a fan.
Any “best” list not featuring the Rocketeer and Willow is invalid.
It’s frightening how many people have been coming to his defense, saying that if you really care about your daughters you’ll do this. Even other rap artists who have rushed to defend him.
I don’t think Tulsi is a Russian plant. I think the reality is much much worse. The reality is that she’s so anti-Muslim that she’ll support dictators and war criminals, so long as those despots keep killing Muslims. She’s supported Assad, Russian bombings in Syria, El-Sisi, and Modi all in the name of “fighting…
Who the hell keeps letting these fools out of the greys?
“Punishment abolitionist”
Weird though that they’d have Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross do the score for it.
