Many EV plants still rely on coal power, ultimately negating the environmental benefits you’d expect from going electric.

I wonder if horsepower doesn't translate well as a power measurement for EVs. My Rav4 EV is rated at 150 hp with 290 ft-lbs of torque and it is amazingly quick to 60 for those specs.

Many EV plants still rely on coal power, ultimately negating the environmental benefits you’d expect from going electric.”

Sorry, that is total BS because:

While many findings contradict each other, there is research that indicates that the manufacturing of an EV battery can create more carbon dioxide than an environmentally friendly ICE model depending on where the battery is made. Many EV plants still rely on coal power, ultimately negating the environmental benefits

Pprioritization is an issue too.

I tell you, there’s nothing “safer” than half-baked semi-autonomous technology solutions in search of a problem.

And this is why autonomous cars are a seriously bad idea. Brakes are only one part of a complex algorithm that has to be essentially flawless.

Also, you know, turn on the indicator before you start braking, merging, turning, or whatever that requires a turn signal. It’s not helpful for you to turn it on mid-maneuver. I already know at that point.

They’ve been in pre-production for a while. I’m confident they’ll ship towards the end of this year.

I actually think Rivian’s concepts are pretty attractive as far as the plug-in-electric space is concerned.

Because god forbid they make the front end appropriately smaller (or more sloped) for better maneuvering and visibility now that it doesn’t have to house a longitudinal V8 anymore. That wouldn’t sell.

There’s a ton of them already. They’re one of the easiest cars to convert, since they’re so light and the chassis is pretty flexible. A quick YouTube search will yield dozens of Miata conversions.

One aspect of EV tuning that particularly intrigues me, is the thought of hot rodding without worrying about emissions. For years in California you've either had to pay big money and potentially wait longer for CARB-approved options, or try your best to cheat the system. I suppose there's still time for the nannies to

I said something similar years back-I want to make a “drop in” kit. Here’s you motor + controller-they bolt onto Chevy mounts. Mount your batteries over here. Swap over your 67 Impala in a weekend.

Now playing

For anyone who doubts the awesomeness of DIY EVs, I’d like to remind you all once again that the Zombie 222 exists.

Aem's legit, so this sounds like Lego-level fun.

Everything about this is awesome. Bringing together E-racing and environmental awareness seems obvious but hasn’t really been such a clear part of the vision before. Linking that together with an SUV-focused approach gets technology development rolling for the biggest vehicle-class potential for the US market at

Nothing matters because it won’t come to the US. :(
